Now that it’s been decided, what are your thoughts on the Assisted Dying Bill? Personally, I’ve found it incredibly difficult but was narrowly against it, while having enormous sympathy for those in favour.

@mdbuckley You know it’s only been through one of several stages? The second reading debate was roughly the same length as for any other bill. Committee, report and third reading still to come.

I find it staggering that a societal change of the magnitude of ‘assisted dying’ can get voted through on the basis of zero public debate, and only a few hours in Parliament. /1

Why can't all Parliamentary debates be conducted in the manner today's "Assisted Dying" one was?
