New research out of Sweden followed nearly 30,000 women over about 20 years and found that women who avoided sun exposure had higher all-cause mortality, while women with more active sun exposure habits had lower mortality, though with a higher skin cancer risk. The takeaway is balance, not baking in the sun. Smart, moderate sun exposure matters.
