Finally, we epigenetically profiled a collection of genetically diverse hiPSCs to identify sequence determinants and candidate transcription factors that may be responsible for establishing the primed enhancer state at key enhancers for human neural development.

Single cell multi-omics (scNMT-seq) showed reduced chromatin accessibility and disrupted nucleosome positioning at ZGA genes. This suggests a novel link between the maternally deposited chromatin remodeller SMARCA5 and transcription initiation in mammalian embryos.

Preprint alert 🎉🐁👩‍🔬🧬! @OanaKubinyecz used Trim Away to deplete SMARCA5 in mouse zygotes and found that in its absence major ZGA is impaired in 2-cell embryos. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
