@namename778 @NuCaloric Yeah but most of those were things that I myself found. Like I didn’t see any trailers or anything without actively seeking them out. Which is probably bad marketing. If I had no prior interest, I would have had no idea this game existed.

This game's whole marketing period was insane and something that I'll remember forever? I really don't get where the "lack of marketing" viewpoint is coming from. Maybe I was just the target audience?

@Hectic30523420 For multiplayer only games, you can make that argument. Which is a fraction of the games that exist. Retention doesn't matter unless the revenue model requires consistent purchases within the same product. Retention doesn't matter for games like Elden Ring or Skyrim.

@RichardHCheese Culture encompasses player interaction btw which is vital in the online multiplayer space. Some games have terrible cultures that actively push people away from playing the game even if they enjoy it. Also retention literally measures if people are still playing the game or not.

@Hectic30523420 A games culture has no relation to the games enjoyment factor or retention. Enjoyment is subjective and based solely upon the game itself, and retention is a useless metric for most games. Not everything revolves around live service shit and popularity.
