@FootballCliches @D_C_W @NickMiller79 In the moyesledinho discourse I’m glad that moyesinho wasn’t included as that would have been infringement on John Mousinho’s managerial domain. HHG upgrades great too. Got the Keysey section to listen to on the drive home

@pn_neil_allen @stevebone1 what these accounts do is really question this seasons strategy and investment. Pretty naive to think they could do the same with Bham/Wrex promotion and no burst of investment either throuvh higher debt (alth Chaplin won’t be cheap) or selling JM - with hindsight…

#Pompey have posted losses of £4.3m according to their accounts for the year ending June 30, 2025. Notably, owners Tornante have also loaned £8m of funding - having previously put in equity. portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football…

@JohnnyGib68 @stevebone1 Derby’s forward line put it into context last night. Ridiculous depth. Hasn’t helped with Murphy’s injury (and the budget that’s eaten up) but the lack of a backup in both windows is pretty poor

@stevebone1 Haha... That's my point, Steve...🤣 A lot of us knew we needed a backup 9 in the summer & they wasted money on at least 6 players who are, to be kind, pants. 1 decent striker needed to be a priority & it wasn't We have no strikers of note. Scary, going into a relegation battle

Not normally one for saying which Pompey XI I'd pick in the next game, but.... this is the Pompey XI I'd pick in the next game: Schmid Williams - Poole - Shaughnessy - Ogilvie Pack - Adams Devlin (right wing) - Swift - Alli or Gus Bishop.

@PompeyPedro 100% spot on, but he’s also so isolated at times he’s being marked 2/3 on 1 in the box as no one else is bursting through from midfield to support. Service yesterday minimal (Murphy news a disaster). Bit of a perfect storm esp with others having off days yday (ie most).

🧵 I don’t really know where to start with Bish. First off, I love the guy. He seems like a really good egg and has been a huge part of this club’s success for the last 4 years. Attitude not in question and he’s clearly respected by the group and the manager.

@CalvinBook Agreed Mike. I’d rather refs just ref the game consistently with some error than this continual search for perfection. Line decisions only please. Although we then also have to accept poor refs too…. Which is a harder pill to swallow!

@KieranMaguire I find this whole discourse and debate depressing from a number of angles. Who knows what the job market will be in the future (it’s changing so fast) but to discourage youngsters from curiosity and development however they want is just wrong. (2/2)

@KieranMaguire I remember when I started as a trainee accountant that the firm I worked for wanted variety in who they recruited as it was the thinking and ability to communicate (both written and verbal) they found of most importance. Plus life experience. As a parent of a near 18 yr (1/2)

Wouldn't it make sense for young people to make the decision as to which degrees they choose to study? If you don't like the arts, you don't like Shakespeare, languages, history, music and much much more. That's fine, we live is a free society, each to their own. But to prevent others from studying such subjects, especially from a history and politics graduate such as Laura Trott, seems a bit mean.
BBC Politics@BBCPolitics

“We’re going to stop the government funding dead end university courses” Shadow education secretary Laura Trott says her party would stop funding courses that “don’t deliver for young people” citing some creative arts courses as an example #BBCLauraK bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00…

Result aside it was so lovely to get Eva back to the Riverside today. We only managed 45 mins but after battlimg leukelia for a year it’s a big step. Thanks to all who said hi. Let’s hope we get some goals next time we go. Huge thanks @Boro for making it happen.

@HancockAnalysis Could and should the Eisners have spent more - absolutely. But who would have envisaged the biggest wage earner playing half a season, the likely second biggest (CC) not gelling and Lang as well barely being fit.

Next good job offer he gets he’s gone, the last month or so is the first time he’s ever been this outspoken. Up the budgets or lose him, it’s as simple as that. He’s not been perfect this season, but he’s still one of the best 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 coaching prospects, how much do you value that?

@HancockAnalysis Not trying to defend Eisners (I’ve questioned them on here myself) - but I dread to think the loan fee paid on Chappers. As well as the signing on fee paid to Murph for his extension.

@HancockAnalysis We flip back to Sept 1st - we had plans for Murphy / Chaplin / Lang behind Bishop. Dreams of Dozzell and Swift working behind them and Swanson / Poole / Shocks and Ogs with Nico. Swap in Ebou for Swift - would Mous have been happy with that for the season if all fit?

@MrStephenHowson Yep - if the treble team was that bad, what does it say about those teams they beat and the players in them. Arsenal, inter, Juve, Bayern, Barca (drew). Hate this comparison between eras bollocks. They were a brilliant team. End of

@MrStephenHowson The Mourinho defence in 2018 was better than the Man United defence in 1999. 2018 team only conceded 28 goals whilst the 1999 team Conceded 37 goals Only 2 pts between them.

@KieranMaguire @EFL Apt off the back of the tax lists yesterday. When 10 players are being paid more than some Championship clubs get in revenue in a year it shows the complete farce that this is all becoming. Football vehicles for trophy assets and sportswashing.

The average attendance in the @EFL Championship at the weekend was 22,120. Forty years ago it was 5,984. Average losses in the Championship are £570,000 a week. Player sales and owner subsidies help clubs to survive. Football doesn’t have a selling seats problem, it has a cost control problem. (Thanks to John Sayers for the pic)

@pn_neil_allen @mrandrewmoon @stevebone1 amidst all the talk of the #Pompey Tfr budget, has anyone asked (sorry if you have) why the club hasn’t filed FY25 acs at Companies House if they’ve given them to the EFL when they did that for FY24 (filed Dec24). They’re not late but….

@Betgolfworld Trying to compare Hansens words to theirs a bit mealy mouthed too. A Liverpool legend disparaging youth players to get a dig in at Fergie vs them having a go at a seasoned international who’d done the opposite of what they were claiming not really equivalent.

Butt and Scholes didn't have to deal with social media content like their own. In fact they had no personal criticism from any quarters to deal with really. Pathetic little dweebs they're coming across as, really poor form

@Michael_Eisner @eric_eisner Dear sirs, there was a tweet re Kimmel from last year “where has all the leadership gone”, it could unfortunately be said of #pompey now. Please don’t hang Hughes and Mousinho out to dry. Fans sold their shares in good faith. What is your intent?
