Which has been your best for finding readers? X, Instagram, TikTok? X for me but I don't feel it's the best option out there.

@SDDonovan I outline, mostly pillar moments for the story and then my characters usually through it in the trash. But it makes me feel in control so...

Do you outline your novels, or are you like me and get a basic idea and run with it, letting the characters take you on the journey?

@TGTRTETLTI Agree with many there are multiple ways. Plenty of good suggestions in this thread My advice is that big moment may only require simple words. If you've built the emotional arc of the characters leading to this moment this is simply pressure release. One approach anyway.

Authors. How do you guys make the emotional scenes less “melodramatic” or less “cringe” because mine is giving both. Some tips would be greatly appreciated 🥲🥂 #writtingcommunity

@BubbleyBrain Would never go mo than $100. Plenty of good beta readers out there. After that yiu acting like a book marketer with no guarantee of success. Might as well go hybrid press.

Someone explain this to me like I'm 5... Why is a person charging #writers this much for a beta read?! This isn't even an edit! The Single Session for 20k words adds up to $3750 for a 100k novel...and it's not even an edit!

I last published a book 3 years ago. And I've written so much since then, just haven't had the stamina to finish one again. Sigh. I feel like a failure with this writing stuff.

Holy cow I spent HOURS preparing a submission package for a particular agent. Really thought he might be a great fit. I was super specific & intentional. Finally sent off query, synopsis, pitch, comps, etc. Went to have lunch. Came back less than one hour later to a form rejection! 😭😭😭

@Kacey_Combs Inner Cicle is not cheap, but Lorin is a story guru. Great developmental editor. If yiu are more budget based check out the webinars, particularly by Don Maas(4), Daemon Suede. Maas my be the best writing teacher out there
