Book recommendation videos are wild. I've just seen someone posting 10 'underrated' fantasy books and 3 of the books listed were Malice, Red Rising, and Sword of Kaigan... I love all 3 books, but they are pretty much the definition of highly rated.

Following up @RoboftheHayes post this morning, what makes a book “underrated”?
I’m seeing books labeled “underrated” that have 65k+ ratings on GR.
Is it because they aren’t trending RIGHT NOW on IG/TikTok/YT that they are underrated?
Or is it because we’ve lost what words mean?

@JoeBerne1 It's been many years since I watched it, so can't remember them well enough. I'm only up to S3 on my rewatch.
But I think part of the enjoyment comes from the more monster of the week style of programming. It's nice that not everything has to serve the overarching story.

@RoboftheHayes I dislike the replicators as a big bad, but otherwise this show was really solid entertainment. Rarely brilliant but usually worthwhile.

I've been rewatching SG1 and one thing I love is how open ended so many of the episodes are, allowing them to further explore themes and characters in future episodes. There's a real sense of exploring the unknown with the show and not everything needs wrapping in a tight bow.
