A sequel movie to the ‘LORD OF THE RINGS’ trilogy is officially in the works. Plot synopsis — 14 years after the passing of Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin set out to retrace the first steps of their adventure. Meanwhile, Sam’s daughter, Elanor, has discovered a long-buried secret and is determined to uncover why the War of the Ring was very nearly lost before it even began. Stephen Colbert is co-writing the script.

@bernardtjoy I’ve read all the original screen writers and production team is coming back for this project. Chances are those screenwriters will have control and not Colbert.

This miscast of Snape in Harry Potter is a good example of race swapping changing an entire story. If Snape is Black, despite books saying he’s White, then Harry is now suspicious that the only Black teacher at Hogwarts is stealing and his Dad bullied a Black kid by hanging him. This seems like a major story change to introduce the idea of racism, and it strays from the source material. 🥴

The screenplays for the trilogies were written by three people who had previously been responsibly for the movie "The Frighteners." In what way is Colbert, who has been a professional writer for thirty years, not up to this job? I would appreciate if you could filter out "I just don't like him and I'm pissed that someone is paying him." Why can't he do this?
