If you want to be successful you need to be watching Moneyball at least once a quarter. Particularly around the beginning of baseball season it is key. I don't make the rules, its just the truth.

@blueprintsmb22 x.com/plasticboss/st… I think I found the guy making all the money off your resin increases
Larry Welnowski Jr.@plasticboss

I’m 55 years old. I own a multimillion dollar plastic resin distribution and resale business which I started in 2003. I started another business selling rugs and home goods. Why? I want to show my kids what is possible. I also want to inspire others with my actions and share them on this platform. I’m teaching my kids and others the value of time. Time should be our #1 priority. If you work a 9-5, you are strapped to a desk, punching a clock, rushing to be there on time, negotiating for PTO, putting in your vacation time early to get the week you want. Just typing this gives me anxiety. I lived that life for 6 years in my late 20’s and one day, I just left. Gave my 2 weeks notice and had no idea what I was going to do. The day I walked out that door, my uncommon life started. For the past 23 years, I do what I want, when I want, for however long I want. I’ve attended every one of my kids games, doctors appointments, and school functions. I take 7 vacations/year and have the freedom to play golf anytime I want. People often asked me if I had a job 😏 when I’d be the only parent at my son’s college baseball game at 2pm on a Wednesday in the middle of Pennsylvania. Does this mean I don’t work hard? Quite the opposite. Technology has given me the ability to work anywhere. I’ve made deals on the beach, the golf course, at Disneyworld, at a dentist appointment, everywhere. Time has become my obsession and I want it to become yours. By the way, I run my plastic business with 3 employees. Myself, my wife and my son. You don’t need to scale to be successful. I’ve tried it. It sucks to manage drama everyday. We run lean and mean. Same for the new business. Our time is always the priority. If an idea interferes with my freedom, it doesn’t happen. Just my philosophy, you can disagree and have different priorities, but we only have so much time left on this earth and you really don’t NEED to feel strapped to a 9-5. You just need to take action. No action means no progress. It’s means nothing changes. You don’t need a 3000 sq. ft. house, 2 car payments, a Rolex, designer clothes, etc. Scale back and start valuing time. I’ll be teaching you how to live an uncommon life like me because I believe in Karma. Give me a follow and I can't wait to help you live your life to the fullest. #onelife

LOL. Did a short weekend trip with my wife, mom and daughter to Princeton, New Jersey to see the Princeton Art Museum (some nice Warhols and Monets) and walk around the area. Saturday was a gorgeous day with everybody walking around the Princeton campus, and I was thinking wow no one here is probably focused on the Strait of Hormuz situation or is aware that my resin cost has basically doubled year to date! Must be nice!

@bprintco Does rental not make sense? If you can line up sites back to back you’ll capture savings by just moving the equipment each time on the same monthly rate instead of multiple rentals

We have over $250k in scheduled jobs just in April alone A 5x increase over last April. Our biggest and most frustrating challenge by far is speed to scale. I could add another $250k with the click of a button, and I could press this button 30x over every 4 months. I could expand the service area and amplify it even more. But I can’t, because we can’t fulfill more than that without more equipment. I can’t just infinitely buy equipment either, it takes time to build up. The thought of taking on an investor has been discussed many times, but that’s another challenge, because it needs to be the right investor. Money alone isn’t the right investor. We need one that understands the industry and is well connected in it. We also have over 100 people ready to buy into a franchise model. A model that has already been built over the Winter. The possibilities are endless, but the decisions have become much more complex and more impactful.

Interesting butterfly effect question Does Ray Kroc takeover and build Mc D’s through real estate if he was making plenty through the franchising deal? "You're not in the burger business. You're in the real estate business. You don't build an empire off a 1.4 percent cut of a 15-cent hamburger. You build it by owning the land upon which that burger is cooked."

Today’s schedule: - 6:30-9 AM: BYU Lacrosse practice - 9-10 AM: Grab a Friday Bagel Sandwich and get ready for the day. - 10-2 PM: Play around on a vibe coding project I’ve been working on. - 2-5 PM: $600 stump job. Oh and I just had $2k worth of jobs next week accepted. Been really leaning into not optimizing every moment lately and life has felt amazing. Vibes are HIGH.

@BillDA With the vapor barrier down you can seal the outside vents which will reduce the humidity and work load of the fans + dehumidifier

I was quoted $10,000 to install two dehumidifiers in my crawlspace. I saved $7,500 by designing a DIY custom crawl space dehumidification system with Claude 🤑 I am not an HVAC professional. Here’s how I did it. Our story begins with the discovery that our new home needed a dehumidifier installed in the crawl space to prevent mold. The professionals told me it would cost $10k, since I’d need one unit on each end due to the size of the space, plus a second drain line installed. “Can’t we just use fans to move the humid air from one side toward the dehumidifier?” They wouldn’t do that. Enter Claude… I uploaded a floor plan of my crawl space and air volume dimensions, telling Claude what I was trying to do. It researched the best dehumidifier sized appropriately for my air volume (100 pints apparently). Found me the best price - $1,500. Now it was time for fans 💨 I had originally envisioned the single dehumidifier at one end of the space, with fans on the opposite end. Claude taught me that would just draw more moist outdoor air in through the vents on that side, creating a linear flow through the crawl space. Instead it modeled the air flow and suggested a circular vortex with 4 fans, one on each wall, in a circle. That sucks in minimal outdoor air, keeping cool dry air circulating. I told it to research appropriate fans. It found four 20” sealed bearing fans on Amazon (impervious to dust), with DC drive motors (more energy efficient than AC apparently). $120 each. 🔌 It told me to buy a smart plug for each fan and a few internet connected humidity sensors. Another $200. Claude mapped where to install everything in the crawl space. Here’s how it works - the humidity sensors monitor the crawl space air continuously. If it ever exceeds 60% humidity, the smart plugs switch on all 4 fans, circulating the air in the crawl space past the dehumidifier until the humidity is below 50% 🔃🔃🔃 Total cost ~$2,500 for everything and one Saturday of work for me. I saved $7,500 vs. the original quote because I didn’t need two dehumidifiers, and Claude tells me my version is nearly twice as energy efficient. Plus I learned a ton about my home and had fun. I didn’t know anything about dehumidifiers, fans, or air flow dynamics before starting. AI can do so much more than write code - the applications are endless.

I’m not much of a gambler but I’m betting you will never guess what we’re standing up in this space. This will be the first location on the east coast, business operations are illegal in 48 states, and the founders are looking for franchisees. A 98 billion dollar industry about to be flipped upside down, literally.
