Mourning the passing of my friend and former teacher, Dr Vinayshil Gautam, today. A brilliant scholar, teacher and educationist, he served in a variety of distinguished positions in academia, government and the private sector, his resume including names like St Stephen’s, IiT, IIM, KPMG and Protivity. Our association goes back to my second year of college when i successfully petitioned SSC to introduce a course in American history and he was pressed into teaching it on his first year back as a brand new PhD! It resumed after my return to India 17 years ago and i was able to enlist him for some assignments during my ministerial stint at MHRD. We remained friends and I deeply mourn his passing. I would like to thank the administration of @MaxHealthcare Gurgaon for heeding my request to allow the family some privacy with him in his last moments, by cordoning off a part of the ICU and granting them full access. These things mean more to loved ones than rule-makers realise! My Pranaams 🙏🏼to his soul. 🕉️ शांति।
