@HoopGrids All rivalry aside. Those are some of the ugliest uniforms I’ve ever seen.

@warpnwoof @alessi_lucas10 @tomasheard @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio I’ll repeat this again for you: YOUR country recognizes American DOs as medical doctors, and gives them unlimited rights to practice medicine as physicians. They are medical doctors, and I think I’ll trust the rulings of our countries medical licensing bodies over your opinion

@Pablo73187435 @xnewsanchor @DrDiGiorgio That guy is wrong, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine in the US go through the same education as MDs, take the same Licensing Exams and complete the same residency training. They are fully licensed physicians

@warpnwoof @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio Just as I told someone else, DOs have unlimited ability to practice medicine as physicians in 65 countries, including the UK ;) they are treated as physicians after registering with the GMC. Google is free

@tomasheard @warpnwoof @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio , especially since osteopath has a different meaning in Australia. I also understand your hesitancy to accept scope creep however, DOs are considered to be on equal footing as MDs here in the US. All of this aside, have you ever seen a DO in practice, or worked alongside one?

@tomasheard @warpnwoof @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio But the rest of their education is at the same standard as MD education, as evidenced by the requirement to take USMLE Step 1 & 2 - They also complete the same residency programs, which I’m sure you would agree is an integral aspect of medical education. I understand your hangup

@tomasheard @warpnwoof @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio Those two things are not mutually exclusive. What’s more likely - that you are mistaken and have some personal hangup over titles, or that 65 countries, including ours, have made a horrible mistake giving DOs unlimited medical practice rights?

@SeeboldThomas @warpnwoof @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio I think putting the name of a pseudoscientific practice in the title of your degree, and inserting hundreds of hours of pseudoscience into the curriculum, is a bad signal in terms of commitment to the scientific method.

@tomasheard @warpnwoof @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio Could it be possible you have insufficient understanding of their curriculum? It seems like that’s the issue here, you’re downplaying their education - it is, in fact evidence based. They do receive additional education on osteopathic manipulation, but take the same boards as MDs

@tomasheard @warpnwoof @superbeav11 @DrDiGiorgio Good thing the patient outcomes between MDs and DOs are statistically the same per UCLA health, and they take the same licensing exams. You would think a doctor would be capable of doing a little research
