Muslims make up just 6% of the population of Britain. Conspiracy theories currently being aired by right wing bigots that they are secretly plotting the Islamic domination of Britain are the 21st century Islamophobes' equivalent of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and just as idiotic.

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

For the first time in 60 years, Palestinians are being barred from praying at Al Aqsa mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam. This morning, Palestinians tried to pray Eid right outside and were brutally attacked by the Israeli Occupation Forces.

@danielthemate Do you ever go after antisemites or is it just that comedy rap group? There’s quite a lot of full blown antisemitism on this site, weird how you just go after that one band who have never said or done anything antisemitic? I’m sceptical about your motives there, Dan

We've seen these exact libels before. There have been hundreds of conflicts in the last hundred years, countless which have been more deadly in the last 20 years. But it's only the Jewish state that Kneecap are spending all their time smearing. These pogroms described below weren't that long ago, and Kneecap wants to bring them back.

Americans do not understand how old and how severe antisemitism is. There was a single pogrom (anti-Jewish riot) in Ukraine in 1918 that killed 120,000 Jewish people. Countless pogroms in the Middle Ages did the same. The charge: “Jews are evil and trying to kill children.”

Hard disagree. Reform were evasive on this issue for a long time. They boasted they would abolish Net Zero, but at the same time they committed to the insane Paris 2050 targets. They just wanted a slightly watered-down version of Net Zero. Eventually, under sustained pressure from their base they dropped the commitment to Paris 2050, but it was like pulling teeth to get them to do it. But even after that, Tice constantly made posts where he accepted that CO2 is a pollutant and AGW was real. He just thought the other parties were exaggerating a little. I have no confidence they'll do much about our insane climate change policies. They are just containment on this, like they are on immigration.

I should make it clear that I am completely and implacably opposed to Net Zero. I do not support it at all. Richard Tice and Zia Yusuf are battle-hardened on this issue and have been totally against it, as has Nigel Farage. They deserve full credit and respect for taking that stand. Very good calls. I am simply making an observation about public opinion and political optics. I do not make the rules. I am just describing how politics actually works in the real world.

Just a month ago @DeborahMeaden and the other Labour outriders were celebrating the sterling jon of Rachel Reeves because borrowing was down due to people selling up before CGT goes up. Well, we're back in the real world now.

I live right next to the US embassy in London. They built an actual moat around it. Who builds a moat around their embassy? Countries that do bad things and expect retaliation. Or countries who do diplomacy as if we’re in the Middle Ages.
