@DaleVince @KemiBadenoch There isn't a global price for gas moron. Any oil or gas extracted from the North Sea is taxed at 78% which would give the Exchequer a massive boost to the UK coffers but you're more than happy to sit back and take massive subsidies for so called 'green energy'. Drill MORE now!
English

.@KemiBadenoch displays her total lack of understanding of the energy sector. She argues for more drilling in the North Sea to protect us from this energy crisis - seemingly oblivious to two very important facts. The first is we don't set the price of our north sea oil and gas - we let global markets do that. So in a crisis where global prices sky rocket, how can the answer can be to produce more globally priced oil here - it’s (energy market) illiterate to say so. The answer is to take control of our own energy pricing, starting with our own North Sea, as we have already with retail energy bills. Impose a price and profit cap. If we do this as part of an entire sector move - capping all wholesale prices, then we can combat this crisis and those that are coming next.
The second very important fact Kemi seems unaware of is that it will take up to five years to produce anything new from our North Sea. So even if that could help us, it can’t help us with anything soon. And it won’t help us for long because our North Sea is all but empty, there’s 10% left. Our North Sea has been in decline for 30 years, shedding jobs and production capacity - because it’s running out - this has been going on for far longer than green energy has been a thing - to blame green energy for the decline of the North Sea is ignorant (of the facts). And Global markets have been filling the gap between what we make and what we use for decades now - Kemi seems not to know this either. As for energy bills, Badenoch seems unaware that the ‘green taxes’ we have on our energy bills were added by previous Tory governments. She seems also unaware that we spend vast sums subsiding fossils fuels - £17 billion a year at the last count. She operates in a fantasy environment, or would have us do - where green taxes have ruined the country and our oil and gas industry and all we need to do is drill more - it’s delusional.
It’s straight out of the mouth of Trump.

Keir Starmer hosted an Eid party at Number 10. Standing next the Prime Minister is Arooj Shah, leader of Oldham Council.
Her brother is a convicted money launderer. Her childhood friend is Irish Imy, convicted heroin dealer and getaway driver for a cop killer. She is regularly seen in his company, including riding through town in the passenger seat of his Bentley.
She celebrated her election victory with a convicted kidnapper and torturer.

Could "the phone lie" be the thing that is the final nail in Starmer's political coffin?

@TheBritLad He should be focussing on the black and arabic families that rounded up and sold their countrymen to slave traders in the first place! Britain abolished it but slavery continues to this day.
English

Lenny Henry wants Britain to cough up £18 trillion in reparations because
'all black British people personally deserve money for the effects of slavery.'
Funny how he skips the part where Britain was the first major power to ban the slave trade in 1807, then sent the Royal Navy's West Africa Squadron to patrol the coast for decades. They seized 1,600 slave ships and freed 150,000 Africans .. at the cost of British sailors' lives and huge expense.
Britain didn't just stop its own involvement; it actively fought to end the trade globally.
Meanwhile, in Africa today (per the Global Slavery Index), countries like Eritrea, Mauritania, South Sudan, Nigeria and others still have some of the world's highest rates of modern slavery .. forced labour, child soldiers, hereditary servitude, trafficking. Millions trapped right now.
And Lenny's own roots? Jamaica (his parents' homeland). It still has notable modern slavery issues too, including forced labour and exploitation.
So... demanding trillions from British taxpayers (including black Brits) for 200-year-old history, while African and Caribbean nations haven't fully confronted slavery's continuation on their own soil? That's not justice. That's selective outrage and hypocrisy.
Focus on ending slavery today everywhere .. not guilt-tripping one country that helped stop it yesterday.

🚨Co-op threatens to SACK staff who TACKLE shoplifters
Staff at Coop have been warned that they'll face disciplinary action if they PREVENT shoplifters from stealing goods.
What the hell are the staff there for if not to prevent items being stolen?!
Is Co-op all for petty crime?
Hire more security if you want to keep your staff safe. Don't threaten them with disciplinary action!

Sir Keir Starmer has said it is Ed Miliband’s decision whether Britain drills for oil and gas in the North Sea, claiming he has no power in the matter. dailysceptic.org/2026/03/25/sta…
English

🚨And there you have it.
Lindsay Hoyle misled the house by omitting the fact that he has the power to pause proceedings and ask the prime minister to answer the question.
He was quite happy to do this with Boris, but he REFUSES to do it with Keir Starmer.
Absolute disgrace.
Lee Harris@LeeHarris
🚨Father of the House Sir Edward Leigh raises a point of order about Keir Starmer NEVER answering questions at PMQs. Lindsay Hoyle says there is nothing he can do. NONSENSE! He can pause proceedings and ask Keir Starmer to answer, but he *never* does. ABSOLUTELY USELESS!
English

@BenObeseJecty Well it would help if the bloody useless PM would actually answer a question wouldn't it. It's gone beyond a joke that he hasn't answered a single one since gaining power.
English

Absolutely pathetic from Reform UK MPs as they stage a mass (well, eight) walkout of #PMQs.
Obviously pre-rehearsed but very much reflective of their thin-skinned demeanour in Westminster.
Rare to see them in the chamber at all to be fair.
English

@John2Win It doesn't matter as he NEVER answers any questions at all.
English

@NadiaWhittomeMP Weaponised? What planet are you on woman? The word GIRL in the title should give you a clue as to why boys are NOT welcome. There are two genders. If there has to be an organisation for trans boys and girls why don't you set one up instead of spouting woke outrage?
English

It’s devastating that Girlguiding has announced plans to exclude existing trans girl guides from September.
The Supreme Court ruling is being weaponised to bully previously inclusive organisations into abandoning members of their own community.
The government must ensure that the statutory guidance enables organisations to be inclusive and protects them from expensive anti-trans lawfare.
English

@ThomasWillett9 Bollocks....which is of course exactly what those 'guides' have and should not be associated with the movement.
English

Girls are being banned from Girlguides. Why? Because a small group of wealthy, well-connected transphobes decided to target children and make their lives a misery instead of focusing on real issues.

@LauraTrottMP The Tories did absolutely NOTHING to help this poor man don't forget!
English

Five years ago, hundreds of Islamists protested at the gates of Batley Grammar School all because a teacher showed a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad during a Religious Education lesson.
Within days, he was forced into hiding. Threatened with death. His family targeted and children forced to miss school.
Five years on. He is STILL in hiding. Still living in fear. In Britain. And what’s changed?
Instead of defending free speech, Labour are now debating new definitions of “anti-Muslim hostility” and appointing a tsar to police it.
This amounts to blasphemy law by the back door and it will have a significant and chilling effect on how people live.
Labour councils in the north of England have issued advice to teachers warning that children’s drawings may be deemed “idolatrous” under sharia law. That music and dance lessons might breach religious expectations.
Teachers are effectively being told to be careful. Children risk being labelled blasphemous for drawing a nativity scene.
No religion should be above the law.
No belief should be beyond criticism.
The Batley teacher was cleared of any wrongdoing and an independent report said he was badly let down. But it didn’t matter. His life was already torn apart. His children forced out of school. His family still in hiding.
So ask yourself, if this happened again today, would anything be different? Or would we fail him all over again?
We must stand up for our teachers.
We must defend children.
We must say no to extremism and no to blasphemy laws in Britain.
We MUST fight for free speech.
