unpopular opinion most "groundbreaking" AI announcements are just well timed hype. OpenAI did it with GPT-2, "too dangerous to release" was the biggest marketing stunt in tech history Anthropic is running the same playbook right before their IPO and while everyone's celebrating the new benchmarks Claude Opus quietly got worse because they shifted compute power away from it to fuel the hype cycle benchmarks are beautiful. real products still break. full autonomy is a long long way away and we should stop pretending otherwise. Seeing so much edits and post on my feed on the new model and everyone hyping it so much has made me confused. What are your guys opinion on this matter?
