@JeromeyR0me Laws of AssociationFootball. Each game must be 90 minutes of 2 equal halves of 45 mins. So injury time etc is added by the referee so they play the full 90 mins. Also the fans get 90 mins not 80 or 85 but 90.

As an American who watches soccer once every four years - I have never understood stoppage time. Why does the timekeeper get carte blanche on adding extra time and how come we don’t know exactly when the half will end? It feels so arbitrary and intentionally opaque

Do you remember in previous World Cup competitions when every shop was selling England flags and banners, and every other car had flags flying from little plastic flagpoles, and there were always a number of houses festooned in the cross of St George. This year? Nothing.

I’d hoped that the ECB wouldn’t overreact without establishing the facts and that Stokes also wouldn’t do or say anything in haste. I’d also hoped that they’d give one test captaincy back to Root, and not Brook. So happy so far. From what I’ve read and heard it feels like the cricketers were the victims of an unprovoked attack. Their crime was therefore breaking curfew, which is commensurate with a one match omission. Let’s not make a mountain out of a molehill.

@5liveSport The curfew was for the Ashes series. On English soil after a win then I don't see an issue with it. If its after curfew Y was sn ECB security guy there? Doesn't that make the ECB complicit?
