@KofiOutlaw Correct. I have visited Usuki in Oita Prefecture on Kyushu where English Pilot William Adams, later known as Miura Anjin, landed with his Dutch ship Der Liefde. Adams later became a key advisor to Ieyasu Tokugawa. Adams died and was buried in Nagasaki. Claves based Shôgun on these true historical characters, among others.

Came on here to get some enjoyable #SHOGUN discourse but FCK man so many dumb takes out here. THIS SHOW IS BASED ON A BOOK FROM 1975 THAT IS BASED ON REAL HISTORICAL EVENTS. No one is writing it today with “an agenda.” FOH #ShogunFX

REVIEW: #ShogunFX IS the next #GameOfThrones, with much better production values. James Clavell's novel was everything to me when I read it - and this show only ENHANCES the experience of the book. Great cast/characters, intrigue, direction, music, costuming - the works.
