Tested these FREE speech-to-text today: 1) riverside.fm/transcription 2) app.gladia.io Both of them did an "ok" job transcribing Hebrew. They both will probably do better with English, but I didn't check I bookmarked both, I have a feeling that I will use it often

Hey @Readwiseio — I absolutely love your app. I have an idea for you — add podcasts to the feeds AND convert each podcast to text so I can choose to listen or read. Then we can go back and highlight podcast text just like other items. Pretty please?

Been so on the fence with Descript but my tipping point (in) was taking a 1m18s clip, and reducing it to 59s (YouTube Shorts) by just removing low substance sentences. This is done by actually removing text to edit the sync'd video:

Ok so I downloaded all ~322 episodes of @lexfridman podcast and used OpenAI Whisper to transcribe them. I'm hosting the transcriptions on... "Lexicap" ;) : karpathy.ai/lexicap. Raw vtt transcripts are included for anyone else who'd like to play (they are quite great!)
