Anti-Mormons are so desperate for an explanation of the Book of Mormon that they are willing to believe Joseph Smith plagiarized an 1805 British epic poem "The Book of Madoc" because it has a few broad similarities. Ocean crossing. Native peoples. War. Christianity. The real Madoc is a Romantic epic poem about a medieval Welsh prince who leaves Wales, sails to America, fights Aztec-style pagan religion, opposes human sacrifice, and tries to establish a Christian Welsh colony. And since it's so obvious that it's completely different than the Book of Mormon they continue to recycle an “exact quote” that supposedly claims: “I, Madoc, being born of goodly parents...” The only problem... That quote is not in the real 1805 Madoc poem. So they shift the goal post and claim the real source was a different book: the Secret Book of Madoc by John Dee. A Book that doesn't actually exist. So the theory goes from “Joseph plagiarized a poem that does not match the Book of Mormon” to “Joseph plagiarized a missing book nobody can produce." Because somebody on the internet said something about it in 2003. The anti-Mormons rationalize that without any evidence, Joseph Smith plagiarized the Book of Mormon from a Book that nobody can find. It either takes a lot of blind faith, or ignorance in basic facts of reality to believe anti-Mormon claims about the origin of the Book of Mormon.

It's ridiculous Frank. Another thing somebody showed me this morning was Jesus's words when he said God did not send him into the world to condemn it but to save it through him. So what happens in The Book of Mormon? Jesus goes over to America and murders a bunch of people. Wait, I thought he was there to save?
