🚨 90% of Java Developers Use Strings Daily… But Many Still Don’t Fully Understand How String Pool Works Internally. And this is exactly where interviews expose the difference between “coding” and “understanding Java deeply.” 👀 Here’s the reality: ✅ String literals are stored inside the String Pool ✅ Duplicate literals reuse the same memory reference ✅ new String() always creates a new object in Heap Memory ✅ == checks reference equality ✅ .equals() checks actual content Example: String a = "hello"; String b = "hello"; System.out.println(a == b); // true Why? Because both references point to the SAME object inside the String Pool. But this changes 👇 String c = new String("hello"); System.out.println(a == c); // false System.out.println(a.equals(c)); // true 🔥 Understanding concepts like String Pool is what separates: • Beginner Developers from • Strong Java Engineers Because real backend development is not just about writing code — it’s about understanding how memory, JVM, objects, and performance actually work internally.
