Key to it would be not taking religious texts quite literally at times. So 1 day in creation obviously can be 24 hours etc.
People need to be tolerant. That's all.

@caneronwinter I grew up Catholic (no longer religious) and evolution was just taken at face value. It was just accepted as its own fact complementary to any theology
