They explored space, number of players & rules... but not ball size so it probably doesn't help you @Dan_Cottrell ! journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.117… Ball size/mass has been looked at in a few basketball & catching studies..

Watching a lot of U8-U11 footage ATM. It strikes me that the ball size is an issue for catching. My solution is always to play with a slightly deflated ball. This is all anecdotal. Any evidence out there to suggest ball size impacts on catch and pass at younger age groups?
