It's normal for Tether to fluctuate between -10 and +10 bps of parity (0.999 to 1.001) because that's the fee that Tether (the company) charges if you want to create new tethers by sending USD, or redeem USD for tether. But this isn't normal.

Tether has slipped off its peg and currently trading around 0.996 to the dollar. What does that mean? Should you be worried?
