How to lose credibility as a coach, exhibit A. “Your hitting coach is teaching you bad habits” The hitter: Hitting .375 in the middle of the lineup. “They teach you to drop your hands and elevate” … that’s not even how you elevate properly, and the hitter tops out at 84 EV… it’s line drives only for him

Can we stop blocking the stats page on GameChanger? At the High School level, can we also update MaxPreps please? What are we hiding?

@TwoFiveBaseball Make it public. What are you afraid of? Also, the two platforms can be synced together. Couldn’t be easier. Input your schedule and roster in Maxpreps first. Then open GC, import the team from Maxpreps, and you’re done. Just score via GC. Never have to touch Maxpreps again.

Will never understand the concept of correlating someone’s HS stats from almost 20 years ago to their ability to coach high level hitters in the present day. Close the yearbook and go out and make an impact if you care that much.

This is probably going to rub some people the wrong way, but it’s my platform and my opinion, so here we go… Summer baseball through the high school program should only be for the development of depth players. The best players in each class should be able to go play on the summer travel circuit and chase playing more quality opponents. I feel like it’s no coincidence that some of the best teams in our area in recent years do not try to strong arm their best players into staying home for the summer and playing the same teams (often depleted) that they just got done playing in the regular season. The best events to play in for competition (underclassmen) and recruiting visibility (upperclassmen) happen in June and early July. Strong arming players into staying home and playing lesser competition doesn’t help their development in the long term. Let them get out, face different opponents, different adversity, and be coached by different people. They will be better for it. Just look at the schools that are winning and pumping out D1 dudes.

Barrels, in 2018 I caught hell for promoting such things
Talk Nats@TalkNats

Source tells us that #Nats are running a competition on the minor league side of camp in that batters are hitting off of a pitching machine and you win the competition by hitting the most balls at 10-to-30 degrees and at least 90 mph exit velo.

one year worth of data from 50+ players of ages 6th-college. Using @blastmotion @FullSwingBSB @rapsodo for data collection, hitting off of a @SpinballSports iPitch from 57’ away. Every week we rotate LHP/RHP. In the off season we have 3 months of bat speed training, with 2 bat to ball training months splitting the bat speed months. Starting in January we introduce mix pitch and February & March getting dialed in for games. 6th/7th grade faces - 65fb (4seam, 2seam, cutter, sinker), 60 slider, 55 curve/change 8th grade faces - 70fb (4 seam, 2 seam, cutter, sinker), 65 slider, 60 curve/change 9th grade faces - 75fb (4seam, 2seam, cutter, sinker), 70 slider, 65 curve/change 10th grades - 80fb (4seam, 2seam, cutter, sinker), 75 slider, 70 curve/change 11th grade faces- 85fb (4seam, 2seam, cutter, sinker), 80 slider, 75 curve/change 12th grade faces - 90fb (4seam, 2seam, cutter, sinker), 85 slider, 80 curve/change College faces - 95fb (4seam, 2seam, cutter, sinker), 90 slider, 85 curve/change

If your instructor is constantly throwing you rapid fire flips and letting you take bad swings with no instruction… You don’t have a hitting coach, you have an expensive BP thrower.

Sometimes good hitters need to talk out their process more than tinker with their swing. One of our college guys started out 1-14, and we talked about changing approach to attack “get me over” breaking balls early. Since then… 6-16 w/ 3 2B. “Almost like hitting the 0-0 breaker is easier than hitting the 1-2 breaker!” Weird.

Nasty work. Our 12U home run record is in serious jeopardy this year. @FullSwingBSB
