It’s difficult for US players to understand because they’ve always been close to home, close to their families and loved ones. Many international players have never played in their countries or in front of their families. The WBC give them that connection and sense of belonging that the World Series doesn’t give them. The WS series is a local event that doesn’t belong to them.

@BaseballDudes48 Long gone are the days when players used to respond with hits, doubles, triples or home runs.

Anyone know the story behind this? Did something happen earlier in the game? Was he hit by a pitch? Is this a rivalry? Does this position player behave like this all the time? Do the Texas coaches condone these type of antics?

Is this what @NCAABaseball is now? Everyone talking 💩💩💩 My guess is the batter hasn’t played much and he’s overly enthusiastic about getting the chance to play. That being said it’s not a good look when you’re team is losing 8-1 especially when he takes a 3-1 fastball right down the middle before he walks without even swinging the bat 1 time. I’m pretty sure the coaches at Texas will have a talk with him and we won’t see this behavior again. Good think this was not a life changing event for neither of the Dominican players. Fortunately they are all MLB stablished players and have excellent contracts. That’s why people in the US say the WBC is a meaningless event

@Travis_Sawchik It's difficult Marlins Park becomes a good place to go watch baseball. Bad history, bad location, bad team. How could you beat that?

LoanDepot Park is a great place to watch a game. It's the smallest of the domed stadiums, with unique features (Lots of second-deck homers in RF. Glass facade beyond LF). And it can be very loud when packed as we see during the WBC. It would be great to see the Marlins pack it more often. That's going to require sustained success to build generations of fans in a transient metro area, and it's also impossible to replicate a WBC/World Cup style atmosphere.

Definitely the pitching will set the difference between these two teams
