Kobbie Mainoo x Elliot Anderson midfield can’t work at Manchester United. Kobbie Mainoo is slow in tracking back and he is not a DM that can sniff out danger. Both players are 8 (central midfielders) can’t work in a double pivot in the midfield but can work in a 3 man midfield. Kobbie plays the left 8(CM), Tonali as the 6 (DM) and Elliot Anderson as the right 8(CM). Having both combined in the midfield leaves the midfield without any natural ball winner in the team. Against fast paced midfielders, with intensity, agility and physicality these combination won’t survive.
