“solely because of external pressure” I think you’ve mixed it up because the pressure is internal and “a house divided against itself cannot stand” The court cases are there, but there’s trouble within the party, AA still wants to do what he always does despite assurances that things would be done democratically At long last, AA is not a better replacement for BAT, if anything He’s worse

My leader @PeterObi, unfortunately this is where we part ways. My support for you was largely based on the efforts that I have seen from you in fighting for democratic, free, and fair elections. However, your pattern of resigning from political parties solely because of external pressure (PDP, LP, and now ADC) is uncharacteristic of a leader with the ability to fight for what is right. You cower in the face of pressure and you run for soft landing else where. This is not the type of leadership Nigeria needs given its dire situation, and certainly not the type of politics that we need going into 2027. My hate for Tinubu is bigger than my love for a better Nigeria at the moment. So I will align with whom I believe can end Tinubu. Best wishes.

BREAKING; Peter Obi Resigned from ADC Peter announced his departure from ADC. He said, “Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. “However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.”

A divided opposition beat BAT in 2023. We just needed to be more ruthless and clinical in defending those votes

Then you don't know Nigerian politics. The APC structure is formidable strong. Almost 30 governors are in the APC or going to work for Tinubu in 2027. The APC is not in any leadership or political party struggle. They are just chilling and possibly creating the problems in other parties. Tinubu will win 2027 💯

The goal is not to remove Tinubu and our another “it’s my turn” there The Goal is a better Nigeria and we want to give Peter Obi a chance in I implement his own ideas Asiwaju don try and he failed. He should try again in 2031
HRH. King Emeka@justkency

Not true, I think this NDC moves just consolidated power for Tinubu. Peter Obi is moving like someone working for Tinubu. If the goal is to get the APC out of power, then a solidified house is what is required and not a divided one. We are yet to factor the time wasted just to pick a political party and the APC is just waiting, watching and observing.

@QueenMancunian Stability and progression. No need to ruffle the feathers now. If he fails next season, then reset. For now, he is winning games. A new manager could come in and disrupt the entire team ethos.

@NorraWilbor Nah. He needs confidence. That's all. He went from starting games to being a substitute. He is good. Now he needs to challenge Mbeumo for that position.

I’m sorry to say this, but if a good offer comes in for Amad Diallo this summer, the club has to consider it. How do you explain this dip in form since last December? 💔 Or should we give him more time? Share your thoughts on this.

Watch and see how the attention of the government, its appointees, friends & co will move from the ADC to the NDC. We all know why. We all know who the real opposition is. It’s not any other person than Peter Gregory Obi. Nigeria will be OK!

@commissionase He is okay and building on experience with English football. He needs to get bigger to bully defenders. However, United need a more experienced striker, no excuse.

He needs better players an experienced Champions League coach. Recruitment has to be good to keep United top 4 again next season. Let's forget about Champions League progression. The focus is to cement our position in the EPL and domestic cups. Close the gap between Arsenal and City and always be in the title discussion.

— Beat City comfortably — Beat Arsenal at the Emirates — Beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge — Beat Liverpool today — Secured UCL football and is on course to finish 3rd despite taking charge mid season. And some United fans are still complaining about the style of play… genuinely the most confused fanbase in football. Michael Carrick, I love you ❤️

@GWiseTime @BolanleCole Peter Obi would not have won a direct primaries. He knew he stood no chance with the ADC. The question here was why did he join the party. He seems to be working for Tinubu.

@BolanleCole Fought for through what? Consensus? The only man that ask them to come and fight for the power in a direct primaries is Peter OBi. And that is the strongest politician in Nigerian. They all fear and chickened out and be pushing for Consensus.

RT Hon. Rotimi Amaechi is a leader par excellence. Give it to him, he’s earning his place, not waiting for anyone to hand him the ticket. A true contender who understands that leadership is fought for, not gifted. Discipline, experience, and the courage to stand his ground, this is what real politics looks like.

The team can't keep playing football this way. United has to have a football style. I understand we have to win games and qualify for Champions League but the board need to get quality footballers now. The midfield was dead 2nd half. Casemiro was upfront for reasons I don't understand.

Great win from Carrick but this football is not sustainable, having 38% possession is really poor. Counterattacking football is not sustainable.

He doesn't stand a better chance in a 3-horse race. That is a 33.33% chance per candidate but then again we have not factored in the influence of incumbency and federal apparatus. If we do include these factors than Obi is not going to win the election. What we are seeing is 2023 all over again but with the Presidential 10 miles ahead of the other candidates.

🚨🗣️ Dimitar Berbatov on Carrick & the game: “It's great to Michael Carrick and his team, they've brought back the belief into the squad. Today, the second half was not as good as the first one, but they got the points they needed. Attacking football, scoring goals, and they've qualified for the Champions League - a great achievement considering how the season started.” #MUFC

“I woke up this morning after my church service.” Peter Obi is the first Nigerian to attend church service while sleeping and waking up after the service.
High Chief Lawrence Igbins Okoro tweet media
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Last week, @PeterObi was at an “opposition summit” in Ibadan. We said it clearly then these unprincipled drifters and their structure of criminality have nothing to offer besides empty words. But a majority of his brainwashed supporters couldn’t handle the truth. Now @Peterobi the captain of the gravy train has moved yet again, and those who were misled will once more follow the most directionless political opportunist to ever exist in this clime. #AACOurParty

Obi and Dickson had a meeting last year. Dickson went ahead and formed the NDC. Obi knew Tinubu would try to shatter the ADC coalition, so he moved ahead of time. El-Rufai said last December that the ADC coalition was just a temporary solution. These men are several steps ahead of Tinubu this time. Now both Obi and Kwankwaso have defected to the NDC. El-Rufai will join them next week. Atiku and Tinubu didn’t see it coming.
