@Jon_Mackenzie I think that should be the way forward ICL, every call is too important and VAR can already pretty hugely break the flow of the game as we saw today and many other games. If you're already stopping 30 seconds for refs to check the vid, why not 1 min for an on field check?

@UTDTruth Of course it's on purpose. It's to retain a level of authority for the on-field ref. If off-field refereeing is prioritised, then everything eventually has to be run through VAR.

@Jon_Mackenzie mentions onfield priority in a tweet in the thread but I think that's also flawed because if you apply general human psychology into the mix, VAR refs will obviously only intervene if they think something is blatantly and unmistakably wrong and not a little off -

@theunwanalight Frustrating lack of execution there ye although I do think that can happen to anyone. Much more worrying is the consistent bad decision making even when he does control the ball, so often doesn't spot strong off-ball movement or doesn't play the right pass.

Scariest thing about Diomande is how evidently sharp he is mentally, great understanding of space and combo player. Needs more time and coaching in a T5 league but it's clear he's got more gears to go up when playing with better teammates in a better team.
