@leytonstar hey can you remove me from the mailing list, I've been to your place once years ago and don't consent to you texting me adverts

5/ but it does cost me £20 in train costs and a couple of hours travel as well as loss of earning on what can be a 5 minute audition. My non actor husband once came to one with me and was shocked how quickly it was over with. What are people's thoughts/preferences?

1/ I had an in person casting yesterday for the first time in months and it set me onto the pros and cons of being in the room Vs self tape

4/ In the room the team get a sense of who you are as a person and are able to give you clear and changeable direction as well as immediate feedback on how the audition went and it makes the process a lot less isolated

3/ I can also do as many takes of a self tape as I want to and get opinions and feedback from other people on what takes to send. However...

2/ Self tapes don't cost me money to do, I can do them at a time convenient to me and they're easier to do and let go of but it's hard to know if you're reading it right when there's rarely any clear direction and feedback (thanks to those cd's who do videos alongside requests!)

I had a recall this week with a 4 year old boy without his mum in the room. Before the take I asked him if it was ok to give him a little cuddle in the scene. He said yes and it was all fine but is it weird I checked his consent? I felt like the team maybe thought it odd?

@AshtonVoice_ I'm glad I asked tbh, I think years of working as a teacher especially made me really want to make sure the little guy was comfortable. I'm probably just over thinking things!

@VCross1306 Not weird in the slightest. It was exactly the right thing to do. I would’ve also thought a parent/guardian should be present for a child. X

I bought myself some new tap shoes and I'm ridiculously happy I haven't tapped properly since before COVID and god knows what happened but the tap shoes I've had since college were painfully small! I bought these BEAUTIES from @capezio so that I can start advanced tap classes

4 Self tapes and a recall so far this month! Anyone would think I'd booked a holiday! 😉
