I would like to speak specifically to the pro-missing-the-playoffs crowd of Blazer fans for just a second: I get it. Everyone gets it. This draft is loaded compared to next year’s and we get to keep our pick if we lose in the Play In. It is probably better if we hold onto that pick and go all out next year. But I implore you for one night to put that aside. For just tonight pretend like that doesn’t matter at all, because guess what? We are banged up. We do have flaws. And we probably aren’t ready. You’ll likely get your wish in the end that we end up with the No. 9 seed. But for tonight everything that this team has played for all season long can be validated with a win. This young, completely unproven core can step out and take on a team that’s playing well and looking to make noise in the playoffs and come out victorious. For just tonight only root for your Blazers. After tonight root for us to lose out for all I care, but tonight turn your ego off and just live in the moment and root for a win.
