
I’ve thought about this a bit as well. To be fair I could see Charlie not wanting a college girl for obvious reasons, especially if he felt ready for family and The One..
My instinct is he likely dated casually, but was holding out for his ideal Christian woman with same values..likely had pretty high standards for character and ethics. She would need to have her own success to rule out suspicion of gold digger..it’s possible that someone in his inner circle knew EXACTLY what that would look and act like and coached her exactly how to carry herself and what values to prioritize in order for him to start crushing.
Honeypot theory could easily apply to this situation and it’s so depressing to think it even plausible for Charlie’s sake. Maybe not even an inner circle situation, perhaps nudged to attempt it from an outer circle and it succeeded.. I sure hope I’m WAYY off the mark, though. This would be devestating..but unfortunately all too common..
