Daines voted yesterday to overturn a mining ban near the #BoundaryWaters. The vote sets a dangerous precedent for use of public lands in #Montana, including the Sheep Creek Mine on the West Fork of the Bitterroot.

Fairly accurate history about the Ruby Ridge massacre. One key fact left out: The federal US government agents left 14-year-old Sam’s dead body for days, allowing it to rot and be eaten by animals. That’s shameful to all faith groups much less Christians.
Also to be clear yes the government was ordered to pay millions to the surviving family members but nobody was ever held to account, arrested or prosecuted. A key event under President Clinton and Bill Barr -Janet Reno then came WACO.

Never forget that 33 years ago we learned the government will kill your dog, shoot your 14 year old son in the back and snipe your wife in the doorway while she holds your infant child. *RubyRidge Imagine being 14 years old, living off the grid in the Idaho woods in 1993. You’re walking your dog when suddenly he growls and *bang*, the dog is shot and killed. You look up and see a man in a Ghillie suit with a rifle pointed at you. Fear grips you. You pull your gun and fire. You’re just defending yourself. This is your home. You run back toward your parents, only to be shot in the back and killed before you can reach them. You never understand what went wrong or why. The next day, a sniper fires again. Your mother, standing in the doorway holding your baby sister, is hit in the head and killed instantly. All of this started because your father Randy Weaver, sold two sawed-off shotguns to an undercover agent and refused to become a government informant. They gave him a false court date and set up armed surveillance at your home, waiting for the moment they could escalate. Randy Weaver was a former U.S. Army Green Beret. He served in the military before moving off the grid with his family in northern Idaho. His military background added to the tension for federal authorities, because he was trained in weapons and survival, but it didn’t make him violent or a threat to anyone outside his property. After an 11 day stand off with Randy and the baby inside with two dead bodies, the government was ordered to pay millions in settlements to Randy. They were proven to be in the wrong for this deadly power trip. But that doesn’t bring back a 14 year old boy or his mother. Stay educated. Some of our history isnt taught in school for a reason. 💯

Since my first days in Washington, I have been sounding the alarm about the need to recapitalize and expand our fleet of icebreakers. It feels good to say that we are finally beginning to realize that goal.
Today, with the announcement that the first two Arctic Security Cutters will be homeported in Alaska, it is becoming real. This news marks a turning point in America’s investment in the Arctic and will allow us to reassert our influence in the region—enhancing maritime commerce, strengthening cooperation with our allies, increasing deterrence against our adversaries, and ensuring our military can respond to emergencies in any environment.
I want to commend President Donald Trump for his commitment to these critical assets. When he came into office in 2016, one of my first conversations with him focused on the importance of investing in our infrastructure so we could compete in the Arctic in the 21st century. He listened and came through on his commitment to expanding our icebreaker capacity, and I appreciate his continued dedication to this issue.
The work is just beginning. As we move to designate Alaska’s new homeport locations, ensuring these ASCs are ready to serve will require significant shoreside infrastructure with new housing to support both the vessels and the influx of personnel. While there is a long road ahead, this announcement means new investment, new jobs, and new opportunities flowing into our communities. Today is a good day for America, a good day for the Arctic, and a good day for Alaska.
