@FearNaMuintire Know Paddy well. Him and an uncle of mine there. Both did extensive time in the Kesh. Paddy will be the first to tell you that the book burnings youve referred to in the quote tweet are an urban legend.

@DBS2325 @Matthew76463111 Sinn Féin "lead" a devolved british assembly. The army remain in the North. The war was found for the establishment of a 32 county republic. Not for Shinners to have lucrative careers.

@Matthew76463111 SF lead the government in the north of Ireland. The sectarian police force was disbanded, the British Army withdrawn. How'd we lose ?

I live in Andersonstown, West Belfast,Im 56, I grew up here through the very worst of the troubles. I have a Syrian family living across the street and an Iranian family 4 doors up. They'll sleep safely and soundly tonight, why? Because West Belfastonians are not racist cunts.

Not even hard for a middle ground to be established that rejects the loyalist type violence but is also critical of the effects of immigration in our communities. Its without question now that the leadership of the soft nationalist side of SF/SDLP and the assortment of republican groups simply aren't representing the views of everyone in the area.

You're not stupid enough to be making this mistake, so you're clearly being intentionally obtuse. Belfast isn't British. The planter filth who were protesting are. The north has a minority population of foreign brits. This is hardly breaking news. No republicans regard belfast as british.

All it took for the centuries old Irish republican truth that Ireland is Ireland to be dumped by many republicans was some young people protesting about an attempted beheading and then it is all "They are British, see here, Belfast is British".

@Irelandsfight The nature of a United Ireland has yet to be decided, but you're choking to say you wont vote for it regardless to signal to the loyalist faggots that you're a willing rent boy for them. Theres many like you on the Irish right

I won't be voting for a New multicultural United Ireland. One that comes with a new multicultural flag and national anthem. You can blame socialist Republican Sinn Féin. Pass it on

@FromKulak the main source of arms and expertise for loyalist paramilitaries was the British state and even then the inbred apes they were using as proxies couldn't do anything except kill civilians. I'm sure there is some more pressing business to attend to in your trailer park. see to it.

Jews have the IDF. Muslims have Al Qaeda. Leftists have the IRA. But on the Right, we never REALLY had "our guys". Northern Ireland has changed that.

@sevatarion333 You claimed the IRA in the 70s was a different organisation ideologically in the 80s, when it really wasn't.

@rabgee101 This hasnt happened at all. A game of Chinese whispers set up by bot accounts on this nefarious app. No doors were knocked, no warnings given out, no stand down orders issued. All lies.

Who are the people knocking doors in certain Republican areas telling people not to be attending protests and warnings given out regarding social media posts? That takes organisation so who is organising this? Coercive control and censorship. who would do that sort of thing?🧐

No disrespect, but you dont really know what you're talking about here. My paternal grandfather was amongst the founding members of the provisionals, himself having fought for the IRA in the 30s and 50s. Each one of his four sons, and 6 daughters joined the IRA after him. The organisation they joined, fought for, and went to jail as members of, was the same one he helped reorganise in the late 60s. Too many of you read a few wikipedia articles and think you all have it figured out. You don't. It isnt all black and white.

It isn’t disingenuous at all. What is actually disingenuous is you acting like the Provos of the 70s (especially pre 1975 but even later too) were at all ideologically similar to the later organization
Bladhma@Nafirein

@sevatarion333 No socialist republican identifies with the Official line. It’s also disingenuous to attribute the cause of the split primarily to a leftward drift. More pertinent was the stickies’ abandonment of the armed campaign. Costello left the officials though he remained a communist. (1)
