The season is officially over. We had our football banquet and I am honored to have received The Coach Bean Award. There hasn’t been a day that I haven’t reflected on how proud I am of our team for the amazing season we had. I’m sad that it’s over but I know I will remember these days forever. Things didn’t go our way, but having the opportunity to play in the state championship was a dream realized. It’s never easy losing a game, but it won’t stop me from working hard for what’s next. As I get ready to step onto the field for my last high school football game, I want to give a special thanks to my mom who made sure I kept playing after my step dad passed away, to my dad who has had to miss a lot to serve our country, and most importantly to my step dad, Eric, who instilled the importance of always doing my best and being a good teammate. Every game I have played for him, and today I am going to step onto that field knowing he is watching from above and smiling bigger than ever. Win or lose, I have a lot to be grateful for.
