@Tomfreddie2 These people have no politics, just vague anti imperialism and they’ll group together people from Saddam to Mao to Abacha and Gaddafi. And to think such takes are the face of the Nigerian left now 💔

Mao and Abacha in the same sentence?

The media war against Abacha has been lost a long time ago. There are people who genuinely believe he died after an orgy with Indian prostitutes for instance. So it's pointless to try to fight it. What I will say is this: I'm not a hardliner of any ism. The only ism I care about is nationalism. That is, acting in the interests of your country anywhere you can, and using the levers of state and means of production to make life objectively better for your fellow citizens. And If you ignore what the Western media has been hammering into your head and look at the facts, you'll see that Abacha was a staunch nationalist. He crushed inflation from 50%+ to single digits. He refused to give away our oil blocks to predatory Western oil companies unless they were jointly developed by Nigerian companies. He had ZERO tolerance for extremism of any kind He projectedNigerian influence across West Africa with his ECOMOG interventions. I mean actually instilling a sense of pride in the flag. He even asserted Nigeria's sovereignty by meeting with Ghaddafi when other African leaders would have obeyed like good dogs. And many many more... Now was General Sani Abacha a saint? Fuck no. I'm certain he made some mistakes. And I'm sure he killed the wrong people more than once or twice. That is regrettable. But nation building is never a clean job. East for me to say, I know. Seeing as I've never had to catch a bullet. But hey, many people consider Mao Zedong as a bloodthirsty murderer on the same level as Satan. But he's the only reason China is the powerful nation it is. Do with that info what you will

You're not a Communist then Communists have no interest in upholding the nation state.

If the only ‘ism’ you care about is nationalism then please remove the hammer and sickle from your name. Communists have no interest in upholding the nation state as a political framework. ‘Workers of the WORLD unite’ not workers of x nation state unite under bourgeois.!

Naaahh, you could argue that what is white supremacist is saying that when black people have a dialect that has slight grammar quirks (like a large amount English dialects do), that those dialects needs to be sectioned off and considered a distinct language to keep English “pure”
PremSoonCome@IsItXolani

South Africans are engaging in white supremist rhetoric unknowingly. AAVE is a language just as Xhosa and Zulu are language. If you want to argue it’s a dialect, that same argument can be used for both Xhosa and Zulu.

Karl Marx even frequently(annoyingly so lol) warned against the "educated fools" of the ruling class pointing out that academic credentials do not make anyone's ideas inherently infallible or beyond reproach. They are still correct to this day lol.

Karl Marx and Walter Rodney who both have PhDs famously held that even the most highly credentialed intellectuals and academics are not infallible, challenging the public to interrogate all knowledge, regardless of who produces it.

Oh and here’s a great example of what Kev is saying just from the perspective of a frustrated viewer of the show. Has anyone ever been frustrated or fascinated with the dialogue in a Tyler Perry movie?

3minutes into this series, #ThePolygamist , and I'm already tired of the switching between English and whatever language South Africans speak. It's exactly like how they tweet on here.. can't they just stick to fluent English???
