I always read this but I’m also always confused how we came to this conclusion since Rachel never once showed him as a captain. It’s sad that we have absolutely no idea on how he captained his team because it would definitely play on what would change after he came out to them

This is why the plan needed a yearly review, so they could discuss and verify they were still on the same page…but that would have involved these two men communicating, so it was never going to happen.

I always feel like their wedding is a litmus test of how well people actually understand these characters. And a sign of how much some people project their own fantasies of a wedding onto Ilya and Shane because their wedding? Is was perfectly them. It's an afterthought because that's not what was important to them at all. They just desperately wanted to be married already. The rest didn't matter. And I feel like a lot of fans, being women, project what they themselves would want onto these characters that, quite frankly, couldn't care less about the whole thing. They only ever cared about the outcome.

i dont think its that unexplainable. he doesnt have a longterm partner in a sport where the culture is to marry and have kids young + hes riding the high of scott coming out, of ilya moving for him, of the foundation happening and coming out himself is another small step in their

The whole “wait until retirement to come out” plan should have been reevaluated each year, preferably with a neutral party. Might have lessened some of the issues exploding in TLG.
