@thfclogan @LakeShowYo No-calls seem to be a real issue as well. Also fouls don’t always equate to freethrows. Offensive fouls = turnovers. And OKC opponents play timid because they’re scared of the whistle.

“We have a SERIOUS problem right now, and that game last night highlighted it. We have a LOT of flopping going on… A LOT of no-calls. The refs gotta have some type of accountability. Fans are starting to think it’s RIGGED” - Kendrick Perkins

@EdwinMartinjr2 @NBA__Courtside I agree with that, but irrelevant to my original point. What was it earlier you were saying about selective hearing?

@andy_forya @NBA__Courtside Kobe was on a stacked team from 2000-2003. Why didn’t he win any individual accolades? I know why. Because the actual best player on the team won all the individual accolades…

Nick Wright says he’s got Kobe Bryant as the 8th greatest player ever, and he was never the best player in the world: “I know people get mad at that take, but here’s the problem and the reason Kobe was never the best player in the world. Because once Kobe got great, call it 99, he wasn’t great yet, but I’ll give him 99 once you started seeing flashes. From 99 until 2002, Shaquille O’Neal was the best player in the world. And then from 2003 until 2007, Tim Duncan was the best player in the world. You know how I know Tim Duncan was the best player in the world at that time? Because he won three championships in five years. He won two MVPs. He was the best player. He was the best player until that 48 special by LeBron in 2007. LeBron was the best player in the world from that moment until 2018. So it was Shaq, it was Duncan, it was then Bron. At no point was Kobe the best player in the world.” (Via @WhatsWrightShow)

@EdwinMartinjr2 @NBA__Courtside If Tim Duncan was the same exact person on a trash team would he have won MVP? No. Does that change how talented he was at basketball? No. If the convo is about career accolades then that matters… if the convo is how great someone is at basketball then MVPs shouldn’t matter.

@NUCLRGOLF @Skratch Can someone explain the decision to go with a flop here? Is it because of the lie and that the greens were fast with a hazard just past the flag?

@Home_of_Fight Better nature? That’s a wild take if you’ve actually seen much of the US. Better food? Both countries have great spots and terrible ones. In a country this BIG AND DIVERSE, making blanket claims like that just sounds painfully ignorant.

🇺🇸 🇷🇺 Arman Tsarukyan compares Russia and US: "USA has better roads. But in Russia - better food, better nature, better people. There's so much bureaucracy [in US]. You go to a doctor, they ask you to fill out pages and they ask endless questions. In Russia restaurants are better. Here, you book a table for 5 o'clock, you come at 5, and they say you need to wait for it to be ready." 🎥 @AdamZubayraev

Truth. Kobe was one of the only players I circled on my calendar and started preparing for a few nights before we played. Getting my rest right, extra body work, extra film, watching every calorie I consumed. You needed to be at 100% to go against him because he was always going to bring 100%.
NBA Courtside@NBA__Courtside

Shane Battier on why Kobe Bryant was the hardest player he ever had to guard: “Because there were guys that were faster and stronger and could, you know, fly and more talented than me, but I thought I was smarter than every player I played against except Kobe. Kobe was the one guy was mentally a guy I couldn’t wear down mentally or break. And so I had played Kobe I don’t know 40 times in my career. And he was a month older than me. His mentality was like unlike anybody I played against, right? If Kobe had 20, he wanted 30. If he had 30, he wanted 40. If he had 40, he wanted 50. If he had 50, he wanted 60. It was non-stop. So I just remember just like, you know, sitting in Marina Delray Ritz going to the Staple Centers. I’m just thinking to myself, “Oh sh*t man. I got this guy tonight. I got this monster. The anxiety was real. It was real. Kobe did a really funny thing with me. Like we played this game with each other that only knew we were playing. And one day he’d be super friendly to me. Hey Shane, what’s going on man? How’s the Family? How you doing? Playing great. Next day, man, stone cold assassin. He wouldn’t even look at me. Wouldn’t even look at me. You know, I fall, he’d step over me. Do all that bullsh*t right? Next game, hey man, what’s going on? So he was always trying to like play this psychological warfare.” (Via @hoopinghollerin)

Sometimes it feels lonely being one of the only male Armenians on-air for local news. Everyone else is older than me & I’ll admit it - it sucks seeing other groups of people band together & I got no one to turn to. Couple that with everyone’s opinions on journalism & media… oof

This is an embarrassing look for the UFC. Did the ringside doctors really tell leadership it was a shoulder and specifically not the elbow? Also, Dana said the shoulder was popped back in in the locker room but clearly this was never done. In fact the elbow looked reduced already when he left the octagon. So who told him that? Was it awful translators that confused shoulder and elbow? Or they knew it was the elbow but wanted it to seem less severe and said shoulder?
Ariel Helwani@arielhelwani

Alexandre Pantoja injured his elbow (as we all initially suspected) not his shoulder, per his team. Not sure why they kept saying after the event it was his shoulder. His team says no injury to his shoulder. The initial hope is it was a dislocation.

@SleeperHQ Bijan for safety and consistency. WRs are too risky because not only do you need the WR to stay healthy, but also the QB (see JJ, Chase, etc).
