@GntlmnScientist This protein seems to like to crystallize with a lot of precipitate. 🤷‍♀️ as long as it keeps diffracting, I won’t complain!

@basicchemist Time to remember crystallization is a purification technique. Maybe that crystal is all your target and the precipitation is just junk 😉

So perfect it doesn’t look right.

@basicchemist Looks to be the same size and similar morphology to 1.9 Å macromolecules mar crystals I had that changed my project forever. Good luck!

Small, but mighty

This protein reacts well under the stress of an impending beam time.

These tiny crystals are only carrying all of my hopes and dreams.

@AlexGuseman @idpemery It’s a gravity column set up with buffers that are compatible. We think it was a crack in the column.

@idpemery @basicchemist if FPLC based, check flow pressures and buffer compatibilities with resin.
