The problem with the welfare state and its confiscatory taxation system is that there are ZERO repercussions if politicians steal your money "legally" and squander it accordingly. Any system that decouples the natural link between causes and effects will lead to disaster. This is why what starts off as a small temporary levying of taxes more than 100 years ago becomes the tax code that we see today. Politicians do not view an individual's hard-earned money as theirs to keep. Rather they view your money as something that they allow you to keep a small portion of. Accordingly, you should be "thankful" that the government allows you to keep any of your money. This "proves" that they are kind and empathetic. It is a complete moral inversion of personal agency, liberty, and freedom. No system should take so much taxes from you that it forces you to work 10 extra years to make up for what was taken from you.

FULL VIDEO: Reverse-seared New York strip, cooked low and slow until perfectly edge-to-edge pink, then finished with a ripping hot crust. Obviously, the main show is the gochujang butter sauce loaded with rich butter and just enough Korean chili paste to bring sweet heat and umami.

People are astoundingly stupid. My comments about the departure tax is not that I should be treated differently from anyone else. I am making a point about the extent to which taxes are confiscatory. As I have previously explained, there was a time when ZERO cents of income tax were levied in Canada and the US. Then bit by bit, that "temporary" measure, to be applied to only a few, and at a very low percentage rate of your income, becomes a mammoth monster that takes more than 50% of your earnings. It can occur because there are no repercussions if governments do not balance their budgets (other than voting them out). Hence, what starts off as a small temporary tax on a few becomes an existential theft that is orders of magnitude larger than the so-called illegal extortion tax of the Mafia. It can exist only because the great majority of people BENEFIT from this form of parasitic taxation. But someone has to pay for everyone else, and when you are that someone, you are not necessarily pleased to be funding the ultimate Ponzi scheme. I'm making a moral, philosophical, and ethical argument. It's not just about me.

@LauraPowellEsq Might be declining in part because fewer people go there. Our hockey association stopped holding games /tournaments at the Oakland rink in 2023 so hundreds fewer potential victims right there. Gear was stolen constantly and the area around the rink was terrifying.

With 76 miles of coastline that attract more than 50 million visitors per year, L.A. is renowned worldwide for its wide, beautiful beaches. But these beaches aren't necessarily a natural phenomenon. In fact, most of L.A.'s beaches are man-made. Whaaaat? Let's get into it!

I once had a meeting with several folks at the Department of Education during the Obama administration. I was talking about campus due process, and I made what I thought was a perfectly reasonable point: sexual assault allegations should require due process, but people found guilty of rape should go to jail. The response? “Nobody should go to jail.” I pushed a little further, trying to figure out what the hell they were talking about. I clarified that I think too many people are punished for bullshit offenses, but that murderers and rapists should go to jail. No response. That is a luxury belief. It’s not noble. It’s extraordinarily selfish.

“At Berkeley Law, there are more disabled law students than there are male law students. By the end of the academic year, upwards of 40 percent of Berkeley Law students may be enrolled in the university’s DSP (the total increases throughout the year). Furthermore, data obtained from Berkeley’s DSP office reveal that 98 percent of disabled students have a primary or secondary diagnosis of “ADD/ADHD,” “anxiety,” or (somewhat less commonly) “depression.” Neither is Berkeley Law an anomaly: at other California schools, the proportion of students receiving accommodations is often roughly similar.” jamesgmartin.center/2026/06/the-la…

1/3 of the students at the #1 ranked public law school in the United States receives disability accommodations. This designation will get them extra time for tests. “Other students, however, had disability accommodations, which afforded them either one-and-a-half or double time—that is, they’d have four-and-a-half to six hours to complete a three-hour exam.” nypost.com/2026/06/19/us-…

California politicians’ spouses run nonprofits that receive large donations from interests with business before the state, while collecting substantial salaries themselves. • Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wife of Gavin Newsom, leads nonprofits that have received donations from major corporations including PG&E and Kaiser. • Mia Bonta, wife of Attorney General Rob Bonta, led Oakland Promise with a six-figure salary. Questions were raised after Rob Bonta solicited donations connected to organizations tied to his family while serving in the Legislature. • Annie Lam, wife of former Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, was connected to nonprofits that received significant donations from companies with interests before the Legislature. • Angela Padilla, wife of Senator Alex Padilla, founded a nonprofit for which Alex Padilla reported raising substantial funds.
Vote Michael E. Gates for California Attorney Gen.@MichaelGatesESQ

Mia Bonta - Rob Bonta's wife and an Assemblywoman, drew a $160,000 salary from Oakland Promise nonprofit while the organization lacked valid tax-exempt status. The AG's office is supposed to oversee nonprofits in California. The Bontas can't police themselves - let alone Sacramento. #Gates4AG #CaliforniaVoters #Accountability

Stopped for gas in Kentucky… saw the sign ‘We have disco bathrooms’ and thought it was a joke 😂 Went in, spotted the big red button that said ‘DO NOT PUSH THIS BUTTON’… obviously I pushed it. Next thing I know, lights out, disco ball spinning, and I’m having an impromptu dance party in the bathroom! 💃🕺✨ Who else is hitting every Hop Shop on the road trip now?! Never trust a button that tells you not to push it! 😂

NEW: ICE has arrested 8 illegal aliens who were allegedly all using stolen Social Security Numbers while working at a single window supply business in Paducah, KY. 13 illegal aliens arrested in total at the biz, 8 of them now indicted for using the stolen SSNs and will face up to five years in prison if convicted. They are from Mexico, Guatemala, and Spain. Per ICE: “The HSI Bowling Green investigation revealed that, between June 2021 and August 2025, eight illegal aliens used Social Security numbers belonging to U.S. citizens to complete employment eligibility verification forms and secure jobs. The Form I-9, required by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, is used to confirm the identity and work authorization of employees. This scheme resulted in unauthorized employment and the misuse of personal information.” “These are not victimless crimes,” ICE adds. “Using fraudulent social security numbers to take jobs from American citizens hurts our communities and American workers.”
