Angel Reese is coming off a really solid week, and now she’ll look to keep that momentum going as the Atlanta Dream prepare for tonight’s matchup against the Minnesota Lynx. From a game-saving block in Atlanta’s season-opening win over Minnesota to a game-sealing steal that helped clinch the Dream’s most recent victory, the two-time All-Star is quickly putting together a compelling Defensive Player of the Year case. Reese is one of just two players this season with multiple games of 5+ stocks (steals + blocks), and the only player currently ranked inside the top 20 in defensive rebounds, steals, and blocks. The offense is beginning to catch up, too. Last week, Reese averaged (16.0) points on 48.1% shooting, and that scoring output could have been even higher had she converted better than 6-of-12 from the free throw line. What stood out most was the versatility in how she got those points. We said after Reese’s first three games that there was a very thin line between her being a 10-point-per-game scorer and a high-teen scorer. Last week was a reminder of just how capable she is offensively when things start clicking, especially while still bringing her trademark defensive intensity every night. Reese also came one missed Isobel Borlase layup away from what would have tied for 14th-most 15-point, 10-rebound, 5-assist games in WNBA history, instead finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. But more history is on the horizon. She is currently on pace to become the third-fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, 100 steals, and 50 blocks. Through 69 career games, she’s just 34 points, 14 assists, 5 steals, and 8 blocks away. If she maintains her current defensive pace, she could reach the milestone in approximately 77 games—trailing only Tamika Catchings and Napheesa Collier. 🪄

I was wrongly arrested after a restaurant who had “ChudTheBuilder” written down at the host stand before I ever walked in the door, conspired to have me charged. Then, I was held until noon on Mother’s Day. Had to cancel breakfast plans with my family. I was interviewed by the feds and bank account frozen. All electronic devices seized, as well as my firearm. The police cleared my multi-factor authentication keys after they took all my items so now I can’t sign into any of my iCloud or any other accounts. I could not care less about some hat. I am simply weary after 6 months of being attacked by our government for expressing the constitutional freedoms our ancestors fought and died for. Wake up America. It’s not illegal for White people to say the same word they say to each other.
