@creativecatjk @TimWilsonMP Rightfully there is concern about the recent guidelines that say students have lower infection rates and they don't tend to pass the virus onto adults. Marist community would say differently?

@tintinskywalker @learn_nservices Thank for that whakaaro about tangata whenua and manuhiri. I used that with my staff today. It helped frame the thinking for our staff about working with and alongside our community.

@Dianne_Khan Yes, it's really hard. A focus on well being right now but a opportunity to use this as a learning opportunity as educators to re-evaluate what we need to start valuing. Lockdown has highlighted digital inequity and an inequity in dispositions that support success in this space.
English

@buildmearocket Life is one long learning context, but there are still ways to do it badly, and throwing lots of new things at kids when they potentially lack support and are under stress is poor pedagogy to say the least
English

@Dianne_Khan Yup, ability to select the tools that are important and to be critical in that process is a skill students need. The spaces we give to teach these in schools is minimal which means many students are unprepared for high levels of agency and self-management.

@maurieabraham @DisruptEDNZ @edchatNZ Time for a conversation about what we really need to equip our young people with for success in 21st Century.

Amongst all this discussion about what it means for schooling the one thing I'm missing from the convo is how universities are going to reimagine 'selection' criteria. Surely they don't want to be left behind @DisruptEDNZ @edchatNZ
