VALENTINE OZIGBO CONVENES MAIDEN NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE VALIANT MOVEMENT ABUJA, Nigeria — Valentine Ozigbo, business leader and founder of the Valiant Movement, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, convened the organisation's first National Conference, bringing together coordinators and leaders from all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory for a day of orientation, leadership training, and strategic planning. Held at Hotel De Bently, Abuja, the conference marked a significant milestone for the non-partisan leadership and citizenship development initiative, which is anchored on the principles of courage, character, and capacity. Activities commenced on Friday, June 12, with a welcome dinner that brought state leaders together for the first time as a national body. The gathering provided an opportunity for delegates travelling from across the country to build relationships ahead of the conference, reflecting the movement's belief that enduring national transformation must be rooted in genuine community and shared purpose. Delegates reconvened on Saturday for the main conference, where they were formally introduced to the movement's vision, values, structure, and strategic direction before participating in a packed programme featuring presentations by members of the national leadership team. Delivering the keynote address, Ozigbo, a multiple-award-winning global CEO, described the gathering as fundamentally different from traditional political assemblies. "This is not merely another conference," Ozigbo told delegates. "It's not another political meeting. It's not another gathering of people looking for positions or titles or applause. This gathering is different." He argued that Nigeria's most pressing challenge extends beyond politics. "At its deepest level, Nigeria suffers from a crisis of leadership values, civic consciousness, and moral courage," he said. Ozigbo painted a picture of decades of normalised corruption, transactional leadership, and widespread civic disengagement. "Too many young people have concluded that integrity does not pay," the acclaimed political leader said. "Too many leaders now pursue power without purpose." While acknowledging leadership failures, he insisted that citizens also bear responsibility for national renewal. "A nation does not collapse only because leaders fail. A nation also collapses when citizens abandon responsibility," Ozigbo said. "A society does not die merely because bad people exist. A society dies when good people surrender responsibility. That is why the Valiant Movement was born." Addressing what he described as "the tyranny of blame," Ozigbo challenged Nigerians to move beyond assigning responsibility for the country's problems and focus instead on solutions. "Responsibility is the highest form of power," he said. On the question of restructuring, Ozigbo clarified his position. "When I say restructuring, let me define it. I don't mean division. I don't mean hatred. I don't mean violence. I don't mean the destruction of Nigeria. I mean the honest redesign of systems and governance structures so that this country can work more fairly, more efficiently, and more sustainably for all its people." He argued that political restructuring must be accompanied by a restructuring of values and mindset. "We must restructure how we think, how we lead, how we speak, how we treat truth, and how we understand citizenship and responsibility, because a corrupt mind will eventually corrupt even the best institutions and constitutions." Responding to questions about the movement's political intentions, Ozigbo emphasised that the nationwide structure was not being built to advance any individual's political ambitions. Instead, he described the Valiant Movement as a long-term civic and cultural intervention aimed at transforming leadership culture and citizenship values.

PRESS RELEASE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS MOURNS THE PASSING OF RETIRED MAJOR GENERAL RABE ABUBAKAR, REAFFIRMS RESOLVE TO ERADICATE TERRORISM The Defence Headquarters regrets to announce the passing of Major General Rabe Abubakar (Retired), who tragically lost his life in captivity following his abduction. The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) convey its deepest sympathies to the Abubakar family, his colleagues and all Nigerians. Maj Gen Abubakar served the nation with distinction and held many appointments including spokesperson of various military formations as well as spokesman for the AFN as Director Defence Information. He made immense contributions to counter-insurgency operations, professional development of the AFN and numerous other commendable and outstanding impacts. His commitment to duty and to the unity of Nigeria remains a shining example for all personnel of the AFN. The Defence Headquarters withheld public comment on his abduction in deference to ongoing rescue efforts by the AFN and sister security agencies. Every operational resource was deployed in the hope of securing his safe return. This sad loss further strengthens the resolve of the AFN. We will remain resolute in the discharge of our constitutional mandate to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria and to protect all citizens. In response to series of unfortunate abductions across Nigeria including that of Maj Gen Abubakar, ongoing operations have since been further intensified to bring perpetrators to justice and to dismantle all terrorist networks threatening our nation. We assure Nigerians that the Armed Forces will not relent until peace and security are restored and those responsible for terrorists activities across the nation are held to account. In all my life, I have never seen any fraud as strategic as this. You contacted a foreign airline, got them to paint Nigeria Air on their own plane, got people to disguise as NG Air pilots, organised a team to wear Nigeria Air clothes, organised media to cover Nigeria Air arrival, clear the airport for Nigeria Air. Got Newspaper to cover Nigeria Air. Got media houses to cover emergence of Nigeria Air. Cut Ribbon to celebrate Nigerian Air Flew the plane back to the original country. Told the Masses of a breaking project. Got creme de last creme of the country. This is crazy and evil.

Alleged N2b Nigeria Air Fraud:   How Sirika Allegedly Used Ethiopian Airlines as Fake Nigeria Air-Witness   The 12th Prosecution Witness, PW12, Christopher Odofin,   in the trial of the former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Abubakar Sirika, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, told Justice S.C. Oriji of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT,  High Court Abuja, how Sirika allegedly passed off an aircraft belonging to Ethiopian Airline as that of the promised Nigeria Air by the government of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.   The decoy aircraft, adorned with the livery of the promised Nigeria Air, found its way on the tarmac of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on May 27, 2023, being three days to the expiration of the tenure of the Buhari government and was flown back to Addis Ababa in the morning of May 29, 2023, being the handover date to the successor government.   Hadi Sirika is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on amended six-count, bordering on alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of over N2 billion, alongside his daughter, Fatima Hadi Sirika, son-in-law, Hamma Jalal Sule, and Al Buraq Global Investment Limited.   The contract for the setting up of Nigeria Air was awarded to Tianaero Nigeria Limited, belonging to Gabriel Tilmann, a close associate and friend of the former minister.   Reading from a portion of contract agreement with Ethiopian Airline, the witness, an investigator with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC said “The aircraft will depart from Addis Ababa (ADD) late evening of May 26, 2023 for it to be positioned early morning of May 27, 2023 at the Abuja (ABV) airport. The aircraft will stay in ABV airport for static display of Nigeria Air livery until May 28, 2023. The aircraft will leave ABV airport early morning on May, 29, 2023. The chartered flight will be operated by the Ethiopian Airline crew in Ethiopian Airline uniform. The Federal Government of Nigeria and Nigeria Air may put together local models who will be in Nigeria Air uniforms to pose for ceremonial pictures. The models may come to Addis Ababa so they may fly with the chartered flight to ABV.”   The witness told the court that the display of the aircraft in Abuja International Airport was deliberately planned to coincide with the end of the first defendant’s tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development on May 29, 2023 and to pass the aircraft off as the actualization of his promise of the return of Nigeria Air. After the less than 72 hours display of the aircraft, he stated that the Nigeria Air logo was removed from the aircraft and flown back to Ethiopian Airlines in Addis Ababa.   The witness further disclosed that the investigating team was also able to ascertain that Ethiopian Airlines entered into a charter arrangement for the static display of the Nigeria Air livery for a duration of just three days, beginning from May 27 to May 29, 2023 based on information and documents received from the airline following a letter from it, dated June 12, 2023, in response to the EFCC’s request for information regarding Nigeria Air. And that though the purpose of the contract was for the establishment of Nigeria Air, the charter agreement with Ethiopian Airlines was entered on May 24, 2023, five days to the expiration of the defendant’s tenure for just a static display of the Nigeria Air logo on an aircraft.   All the documents tendered in evidence by the prosecution were shown to have been duly signed, authorized, and accompanied by certificates of identification and were not objected to by any of the counsels to the four defendants. Among the exhibits is a compact disk containing a voice note from the first defendant, Hadi Sirika, marked Exhibit 37, which the prosecution counsel applied to be played in the court at the next adjourned date.

Over the weekend, I returned home to Amesi for a skills acquisition and empowerment programme alongside my in-law and elder brother, Ichie Sunday Ezeobiora, our Vice President General, Nze Afam Okpalauzuegbu, the leadership of Amesi Youth as well as other distinguished sons of Amesi, to support the vocational training of ten of our young indigenes. The beneficiaries will undergo training in tailoring and shoemaking, after which they will receive mentorship and empowerment support valued at a total of ₦10 million to help them establish and grow sustainable livelihoods. This initiative is a collaborative effort by Ichie Sunday Ezeobiora, Ichie Robert Umeozulu, Ichie Dr. Martinsixtus Ezejimofor, and my humble self. Together, we share a simple conviction: that lasting development begins when people are equipped not merely with resources, but with the capacity to create value for themselves and others. I have always believed that the most powerful form of empowerment is the kind that places tools, skills, and opportunities in people's hands. Money may solve today's problem, but a skill can transform a lifetime. It cannot be diminished by inflation, stolen by circumstance, or withdrawn by changing governments. When you teach a young man or woman a trade, you do more than impact an individual; you strengthen a family, uplift a community, and contribute to the prosperity of future generations. Amesi gave me everything that truly matters: my values, my resilience, my identity, and my sense of purpose. Whatever I have become today was first nurtured in the soil of this great town. So whenever I return to contribute in whatever way I can, I do not see it as charity. Rather, I see it as a responsibility and a privilege — an opportunity to honour a debt I can never fully repay. To our ten beneficiaries: this programme is about far more than learning a trade. It is about embracing a future of dignity, enterprise, and self-reliance. Work hard, remain disciplined, and remember that excellence is its own reward. You are not merely acquiring skills; you are beginning a legacy. And to every son and daughter of Amesi, and indeed every community across Anambra State, the future we desire will not arrive on its own. We must build it — patiently, deliberately, and together, one life at a time. Ka Anambra Chawapu. #KaAnambraChawapu #VCOFoundation #Amesi #YouthEmpowerment #SkillsDevelopment #CommunityDevelopment #Leadership #NationBuilding

To my dear beautiful sister, Lauretta Onochie, I wish to sincerely appeal to you to kindly unblock me after all these years. About seven years ago, during the heat of political engagements and public debates, I used words against you that I deeply regret today. As time has passed, I have come to appreciate the need for mutual respect, even in moments of political disagreement. For this reason, I offer my sincere apology to you publicly and wholeheartedly. Please help me share this message with her and let her know that I am truly sorry. Beyond politics, I hold no bitterness toward her, only respect and goodwill. I genuinely care about her and would be grateful if she finds it in her heart to forgive me and unblock me. Thank you.

We just launched what is arguably the most comprehensive Igbo Rosary AudioVisual ever produced. Carefully developed with guided prayers, meditations, Marian hymns, Scripture reflections, and rich visuals for every Mystery of the Rosary, this project was created to help individuals, families, children, and prayer groups pray more deeply and more consistently. Beyond translation, this was also an effort to preserve spirituality in our native Igbo language and help reconnect faith with culture, devotion, contemplation, and daily life. This is not just content to watch. It is a prayer experience to participate in. So, wherever you are — at home, in your car, during personal devotion, with your children, or in community prayer — I encourage you to click the links below and genuinely pray along. Our Blessed Mother’s message at Fatima remains as urgent today as ever: “Pray the Rosary every day.” *Joyful Mysteries* m.youtube.com/watch?v=70PlRH… *Luminous Mysteries* m.youtube.com/watch?v=pwiLaz… *Sorrowful Mysteries* m.youtube.com/watch?v=6oHgdK… *Glorious Mysteries* m.youtube.com/watch?v=ULIrvM… *All Mysteries* m.youtube.com/watch?v=aXD3tE… Please share widely with family members, prayer groups, and loved ones. When my friend first arrived in the UK 🇬🇧 as a student he dated an Oyinbo lady, but he told the lady he’s married back home in Nigeria with a kid, the lady doesn’t mind because the wife isn’t here in the UK 🇬🇧 . The Oyinbo lady didn’t mind, Infact the lady helped him pay part of his school fees. My friend told me that the lady reduced smoking and vaping because of him. When my friend wanted to finish school, she told the lady that his family is coming so he might not be coming to her place often as before. My friend did visa for his family to come. The lady was down 💔 for some few days but the lady told him that she doesn’t want to cause him marital problems so they might break up. My friend broke up with her. His wife and kid came to UK 🇬🇧, my friend now decides to date another Nigerian lady who just came as student last year. My friend is still on post study visa oo, the Nigerian lady was asking for the balance of her school fees even though he knew my friend was struggling. My friend said “Never will I date a Nigerian lady in the UK 🇬🇧 anymore”. He told me, I dated Oyinbo, she took of care of me and even paid part of my tuition fees, but the moment I dated a Nigerian, she asking me to pay her tuition fees. Why are Nigerian ladies (both home and abroad) always obsessed about a man sorting their bills?

Why EFCC Operatives Visited UUTH The Tuesday, May 12, 2026, visit of operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, UUTH, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State was informed by the need to authenticate a medical report presented by a suspect under remand by Justice M.A Onyetunu of the Federal High Court, Uyo, for allegedly defrauding multiple micro finance banks, including University of Uyo Micro Finance Bank. The suspect had presented a medical report which required authentication by the UUTH management. The Commission wrote two different letters, dated March 11, 2026 and April 20, 2026, to the hospital management to this effect without receiving any response. The Investigating Officer handling the matter took the further step of visiting the hospital to enquire about the status of the request. Still, no response. As a last resort, operatives of the Commission visited the Chief Medical Director of the hospital on Tuesday to make further enquiries, only to be locked in with a false alarm and subjected to unprovoked attack by misguided staff of the facility who pelted them with stones and other dangerous objects. While within the hospital, the CMD reportedly directed that gates of the facility be shut, making it impossible for any lawful enquiry to be made. Police authorities in Akwa Ibom State advised the CMD to open the hospital gates to enable the operatives exit the premises peacefully but the entreaties were turned down. In spite of the hostility and provocation, there was no breakdown of law and order as the operatives exercised restraint and professionally made their ways out of the hospital premises without disrupting its activities. Enquiries bordering on operational engagements of the Commission are lawful. It is therefore necessary to remind the public and corporate bodies that they are obligated to cooperate with the agency in such circumstances. Contrary action could be deemed as obstruction, which is criminal with attendant legal consequences.
