@Prototype27F The only problem is that most designs are bad and won't lock into an open state or you have to pull on it before closing it

This obsession with attached caps is so stupid
Like dude if it annoys you so much just tear it off and use it like a normal cap
Tom Harwood@tomhfh

@DeunMr @drainurlyfe @tdkumon If you install a window manager + a shell like noctalia shell you won't need to mess with any config file
English

@drainurlyfe @tdkumon as opposed to what?
because if you are gonna say window manager, I will shoot anyone who thinks that messing in config file is a good UX.

@olson_dan Why not just use `Some(x) && let Ok(y) = compute(x) =>` like they do with let chains

New Rust sugar is to me, unintelligible at first glance. After some study, I got it and I see the benefit. But I continue to believe that this language doesn't need more sugar, and I believe it's hard to improve code clarity when packing so much into one line. But it is what it is. Rust didn't get good by listening to me about anything.

@olson_dan I think the syntax is very ambiguous, an extra "=>" or just "&&" before the if let would make this much better
English

I figured out how to explain why this bugs me... reading order required to understand is just all over the place. But listen, it's fine and I'm just being whiny. I can be whiny on my own twitter.

I am not okay with that, but in the modern world unverified actors on our European social media discourse can disrupt societies and create false narratives poisoning entire generations.
Are we really willing to hold on to the absolutism that truth will always win, when we don't own the platforms we are using for connecting with our fellow European citizens?
How do we fix this with our standard of privacy?
English

privacy is a fundamental right that is necessary for democracy to function, without privacy there can be no free thought, no meaningful dissent and no protection from any abuse of power
in other words are you ok with the government watching you take a shit through spycams 24/7
c4darkness@c4darkness
@f4micom why u so concerned about privacy its not like you're doing terrorist activities
