Just don't use these findings as an excuse. As a kid I scored 84 on the verbal section of an IQ test, graduated from HS with a 2.2 GPA, got arrested, did a stint in rehab, graduated from college at age 28, and now I'm a world famous author who travels in economy plus. Dream.

Sort of a profoundly pessimistic paper. Basically, everyone gets sorted into what they’re gonna do early in life, and this is in fact completely correct and accurate, if you were going to be successful you’d’ve shown promise earlier.

@Hootcel Sounds like they’re appealing to girls & young women, not boys/ young men.

One of the weirdest inversions of the 21st century is that organisations "try to appeal to the youth" by presenting themselves as unserious and childish rather than creating a serious, prestigious image that the youth can hope to attain if they join.

We were there front and center. That venue wasn’t built to accommodate an event with the line of succession for the U.S. government. After witnessing last night, drop the TDS and build the White House ballroom for events exactly like these.

@justalexoki I think I may have seen this once in my life, and that was in England. Almost all of us have dryers. A few of us are retro and have outside clotheslines, though I haven't seen one of those in a long time either

Why not execute them? Much more efficient. Any variation of “oh this is too mean” is lost on me, and frankly should be discarded. These people are unsympathetic at best. My compassion is for the citizens who had to suffer because the previous governments didn’t emphasize public safety.

Okay. But I’m not sure that throwing so many people in jail long term is necessary. He needed to disarm the gangs and rounding them up was the way to do that. But after that happened why can’t you just employ way more anti gang cops to maintain effective control? Seems like a cheaper option than keeping them in jail. Or maybe corruption or something made that unworkable?

Bukele is a useful reminder that what actually happens to savages, when civilized/organized people get fully sick of their antics, is extermination.

I notice an interesting parallel in how a not-insignificant fraction of men are channeling their sexual energy primarily into pornography and how some women are channeling their sexual energy into romantasy / "faerie smut" etc. When you think about the types of men who women are sexually fantasizing about, I am struck by the fact that they are the type of men we used to more reliably create and are now somewhat of an endangered species. Things that women think are hot: physical fitness, confidence, directness, intelligence, perceptiveness, power, and a strong energetic frame that gives them something solid (big and distinct from themself) to play with. Women want to be understood, chosen, made to feel powerful in their desirability, chased, and shown (not told!!!) that they are worth the effort. And all of these are things that, almost overwhelmingly, are NOT fixed traits but rather traits you can build and grow into. So I wonder if a lot of men who are unhappy about their romantic life would benefit from hearing a message like, "You are only 6 months of consistent work in the gym away and some attitude changes from becoming the kind of man women desire. If you show up, do the work, eat clean, start dressing stylishly and grooming yourself well, the entire world will open up for you because the feminine collective consciousness WANTS you to be that man." This requires unlearning the mainstream cultural message that a man is supposed to be energetically small and conformist. But once you unlearn the message, it's gone forever and you're operating on a higher plane of truth and reality. There's something tragic and defeatist to me about people who withdraw from their sexual desires and the pursuit of love and connection because of a fixed mindset around insecurity (and I feel extremely well-qualified to speak about this with empathy and deep understanding as I used to be an overweight, unattractive, insecure alcoholic. I have lived that experience). You really can change how you show up in the world, how you feel about yourself and your desires, and how you think about other people and their desires. But it doesn't happen automatically, it requires effort and intention. At the end of the day, sexual energy is extremely powerful and spiritually important. If you suppress it, you are suppressing your own soul, your drive, your creativity... it has serious ripple effects affecting how you show up and move through the universe. And I see it as a matter of both collective *and* individual life-and-death to bring masculine and feminine sexual desire back into alignment and away from these diversionary forms of gratification without meaning.

Francis Fukuyama is a fucking idiot and a charlatan. People aren’t struggling against ‘liberal democracy’ out of boredom because it’s too peaceful and prosperous. The third world wants to burn it all down out of bloodlust for centuries of conquest, colonization, and humiliation. And the first world is going through the largest invasion in history. Fukuyama’s “steak too juicy, lobster too buttery” view of liberal democracy and its critics only applies to rich first world Marxists. Which is somewhat understandable because he works in political philosophy and that’s his entire peer group.

Freud horrified the old Western social order. His nephew, Bernays, took those ideas about the hidden animal drives beneath civilized man and monetized them. He turned them into a system of hyper-individualist mass persuasion: flatter the individual, stimulate desire, and keep the 'animalistic masses' docile through the illusion of freedom and self-expression.

"...the SPLC chose to publish the names, faces, and affiliations of 15 people it accused of 'anti-Muslim extremism.' The list endangered everyone it named. I know the threat of Islamist violence all too well. In 2004, a jihadist named Mohammed Bouyeri murdered my friend and collaborator Theo van Gogh on an Amsterdam street. Bouyeri shot him, cut his throat, and pinned a five-page letter to his chest with a knife. The letter was a fatwa against me. I have lived under armed protection for more than two decades because men with weapons and conviction want me dead—for apostasy... The SPLC considers all of this beyond the pale, and accused me of using 'the political bully pulpit to bash Muslims." And "Tax filings uncovered by reporters in 2017 showed millions in SPLC money parked in the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda. Think of it for a moment: an anti-poverty organization, headquartered in Alabama, hiding millions offshore while positioning itself as the nation’s moral conscience." thefp.com/p/ayaan-hirsi-…
