We now have a version of Omarchy where everything is working out-of-the-box with the new Dell XPS Panther Lake machine! Webcam, sound, display refresh. Huge thanks to @dell and @intel for this collaboration! Excited to get this released in time for first customer machines 🤘

Well, it seems that I would have been have been in the 5% of study participants who did not obtain immediate BPH relief. Dang.

@Robotbeat Crazy conspiracy theorists claim the moon landings were faked but the real conspiracy is that they were all too successful, and we found something we were never meant to find. Thats why we never went back, and why NASA kept building shuttles that don’t work. All by design.

there’s a curve where few things means poor, more things means trying to prove something and minimal things again means wealthy

@stepfanie The kinds of calories matter a lot too. Dean Ornish's 'Spectrum Diet' book is a bit repetitive, but the main idea of arranging foods on a spectrum of healthy to indulgent seems solid to me. As you cite it too, thermodynamics: Sum of sources - sum of sinks = accumulation.

@jennyrozelle I encapsulate this idea in the expression: "Technology leads, morality follows, and the law lags far behind"

Historically, unauthorized practice of law (UPL) enforcement has been sparse. But as chatbots, online platforms, and non-attorney professionals expand access to legal help, the line between permissible and prohibited feels increasingly arbitrary. Either enforcement needs to catch up and give us meaningful guidance, or the rules themselves need to evolve.

In addition to phone-free schools, there seems to be one more area where left and right can agree: Pervasive frictionless heavily advertised gambling is a scourge. States that legalized it are harming their own citizens and especially their young adults.

They say never meet your heroes so am I just supposed to pretend that the lady who gave no damns and let it rip like it was nobody’s business in the toilet stall next to me at the train station doesn’t exist when she pulls up next to me at the sink, or should I introduce myself?

@rohindhar I recently visited NYC for the first time in ~10 years and I think it no longer feels like the center of the universe There’s a kind of person who wants to be at the center of things: Goldman Sachs in the 2000s, Uber in the 2010s, Anthropic in the 2020s

Someone told me recently they were at an event for people who had recently moved to San Francisco and worked in tech And mind you, the stat they said was so outrageous it strains credibility and I can’t really vouch for it 😅 But of the 40 people at the event 38 of them had moved from New York

Airport pickup is a costlier signal now that Uber exists. Anyone can send flowers; only someone who actually wants to spend two hours of their evening will drive to the airport. Sacrifice for a non-utilitarian outcome is romantic- that's why buying a diamond ring is more romantic than buying new kitchen appliances.
Romy@Romy_Holland

i actually don’t understand why ppl care about airport pickups/drop offs in the age of uber. if the airport is like 10 min away i see how it’s nice, but driving an hour or more round trip is just a huge waste of time.

Last night will be entered into the records as one of my worst for sleep, ~3h all in, despite trying diligently. I also improvised earplugs from bits of a napkin; marginally effective. Still, I am warm and comfortable, on the right side of the grass. Blessed to be so.

Sleep is elusive, despite my improvised eye shade. A diabolical machine buzzes every 30s as it alternately inflates things like blood-pressure cuffs on each leg. Sigh

I’ve started associating my seemingly random cry sessions with beautiful lovely things in my life instead of assuming I’m feeling something heavy or dark and today I was crying on the 405 overwhelmed by how different my friend is now after meeting the love of her life ,, feeling the difference of energy in her home seeing the ways she changed her furniture and how cozy her home feels, it was always cozy but it’s deeper now, the way she dresses , the little dog bowl for her partners dog, it’s all so lovely, love is the most beautiful thing to happen to anyone, it solidifies and nurtures so much good ahhhh my heart I’m so happy for her

Absolute magic as I headed up 1 to Ventura, 74 degrees at sunset. Killer offshore sets as I passed the epic surf spots. Couples climbing the sand dune to watch the sunset. Just pay the taxes lil bro
