@TheNBABase @jwquick @sam_amick “when it matters most” he’s always stepped up!! he’s injured this time and both jokic AND murray shit the bed they cannot be serious

The Nuggets are reportedly facing an "uncomfortable conversation" regarding a potential Aaron Gordon trade, per @jwquick & @sam_amick
“That leads to the uncomfortable conversation of trading the beloved Gordon, who is nicknamed Mr. Nugget. Gordon has three years and $103 million left on his deal, and while it’s hard to imagine Gordon playing anywhere else, it’s getting harder to justify keeping him on the roster if he is continually unable to perform when it matters most.“

@Matty_OW @dothefloppa i do think you can be a bit elitist sometimes but that’s absurdly normal pertaining to the topics you talk about
English

@dothefloppa People aren’t open to a nuanced talk on this subject mostly because they view my takes as extreme and can’t see the substance of them.
English

it is a skill, yes, but it is its own skill, and happens to be easier to master. that’s why these scores shouldn’t be valid when compared to mnk, and should have their own leaderboards.
thats all @Matty_OW said, what is so hard to understand about that?
thundah@thundah1337
Hot take: people hate on this without realizing they couldnt do it if they tried. Mastering these angles & timings on stick still definitely takes skill and experience. Disregarding that over ego is genuinely pathetic.
English

@comloverr @FPSBurger @Matty_OW Except in this use case the unfair advantage input is the controller?
English

To be clear, I do not have any real problem with separate leaderboards.
But in my opinion, using a controller for certain scenarios is basically cheating, and in general, I won’t respect the input that simplifies aiming down like a controller does.
Go use gyro instead.

@Riley_Aster the difference being that on mnk you can’t low sens abuse as effectively bc it’s a smoothness scenario where you’d have to pick up the mouse eventually. the fact that controller doesn’t have to do that is a massive advantage
English

This is right for the wrong reasons.
Controller it’s self isn’t the issue. Sens cheesing + a smooth input is the issue.
Should we ban controller or make controller only leaderboards because of it? Well that’s complicated. If we do that then shouldn’t we only take what input is harder for a task?
There is no real way to please both worlds other than separate leaderboards completely.
Otherwise say on pasu (MnK has such an advantage on this over controller) by this standard we should only consider controller as it’s harder and requires more skill and stick control (we shouldn’t consider one input over the other)
In my opinion the best thing to do is have different leaderboards. I personally would still love to see sens cheesing somehow be banned. I feel as if it’s very dumb. I don’t have an issue with having a more tuned sens for specific scenario. I do this with my target switching vs tracking (I play completely different sens in those kinds of games)
But having a sens that is literally just a reaction time thing defeats the purpose of aim training. Any good controller player can do was nekosu did. It doesn’t show their skill as a player much at all. Which they are an insane aimer and I hate how this is what gets them attention.
Idk it’s such a slippery slope.

Hey, let’s not do this.
English

@Riley_Aster i also didnt say simpler is better lol everyone can agree controller has a lower ceiling. i’m not disregarding the harder aspects either. it’s not a crazy take to like something more because it’s more complex and vice versa
English

I’ve said that this exactly here is cringe. He is saying controller in general is cringe because it’s simpler.
Simpler doesn’t mean better in every situation. In every situation aside from smoothness (and strafe but that’s a whole other topic) MnK is miles better than controller.
So just because smoothness is easy on roller we need to completely disregard every other harder aspect.
Seems like such an elitest take
English

@Riley_Aster it’s the idea of mnk taking more effort to be good at so it has more merit when someone can succeed on mnk in a controller dominated system like apex or cod
English

@Riley_Aster i was using aim assist as an example for why people may feel this way. the biggest titles with both inputs today have very strong aim assist and there’s discourse about it every day. people don’t like it when someone else can achieve the same accomplishments with less effort
English

@Riley_Aster he’s wrong for saying he doesn’t respect it but that’s a normal elitist take coming from the goat of mnk aim training. i know you know how the discourse is about aim assist.
English

@Riley_Aster we all are. i’m saying you’re overreacting to what he said. controller is objectively a simpler input, and that’s fine, but the simplicity is what makes it “like cheating” on stuff like smoothness scens
English

@FPSBurger @Matty_OW bc the guy is flexing #1 scores on an input that gives him an unfair advantage over everyone else? it’s the precedent of it, not that they’re being personally affected. he’s asking to nip this in the bud
English
