Albert, good question. Yes, the funds sit in a smart contract vault, but that does not mean Surf has custody. Non custodial here means: • The vault is user owned. There is no pooled wallet and no operator account holding user funds. • Surf cannot move funds arbitrarily. Execution is only possible inside the vault’s rule set and authorisation constraints. • You can withdraw anytime. Surf cannot block withdrawals or “take” funds. So the vault “holds” your funds on chain, but custody stays with you because control is enforced by the contract rules, not by Surf having the keys.

Risk is not removed in markets. It is managed. Here is how Surf manages risk scenarios. “What if markets crash?” Execution remains inside exposure caps and slippage limits. If conditions breach policy, automation halts. “What if AI makes a mistake?” AI proposes. Guardian enforces. Signing validates. If constraints fail, execution never submits. “What if a bridge fails?” Settlement verification checks final state. If mismatch occurs, emergency controls isolate the path. “What if liquidity disappears?” Routing is constrained by allowlists and depth thresholds. No arbitrary destination execution. If you want to evaluate risk in practice, allocate a controlled amount.

Una predicción. No suelo hacer esto público, pero se han juntado varios factores que considero determinantes para atreverme a hacerlo. Si el mercado no mejora considerablemente, y no ya en precio, sino en volumen y trading real, vamos a ver muchos pequeños CEX, incluso alguno mediano en problemas importantes y echando el cierre definitivo. Los factores que son determinantes: - Falta de interés por el mercado Spot. - Huida del volumen de perpetuos en CEX. - Canibalización de grandes centralizados cuasi "Oligopolio". - Regulaciones y restricciones geográficas. - Surgimiento de DEX Tier 1, backeados y más trasparentes. - Inversión a través de ETF y canales directos con rampas desde Fiat. Esto se nota en muchos aspectos del día a día, pero desde Hyperliquid y Lighter todo ha cambiado, la necesidad que años atrás había por tradear CEX es escasa. Las plataformas con capas de estos últimos serán los nuevos Tier2 ofreciendo además un puente legal para no pasar KYC ni informar sobre transacciones, saltando a su vez Travel Rule, Mica y demás normativas, incluidas fiscales territoriales. Y uno de los casos en los que más se nota es en la desesperación por captar KOLs, no hay día que no te escriban 2-3 o incluso más colaboradores ofreciéndote "lo mejor" a cambio de traerles gente, realmente no te ofrecen nada que no puedan ofrecerte otros competidores, pero la fiebre del reclutamiento es alta. Todo esto llevará a restructuraciones internas para ahorro de un ecosistema que estaba esperando una "altseason" como agua de mayo y que por ahora se ha torcido, no hay tarta para tantos comensales. Una vez vean que con la restructuración y la reducción de empleados sigue sin funcionar, o estos se van, porque nadie va a trabajar con esa presión por solo ¿4k mensuales? optarán por reducir suelos o cerrar cuando sus acreedores pidan de vuelta beneficios de sus inversiones. Esto lleva pasando desde 2024 (mediados) se vio aliviado con la victoria de Trump y la subida a máximos, pero es un problema que lleva tiempo acechando. Invirtieron todo en 2023 y parte de 2024 esperando la fiesta padre, y dos años después aún no están viendo resultados. Feliz viernes!
