They actually can trigger defender in a lot of cases where an app may 'unpack' resources; This is especially apparent when the ZIP or archive itself is compressed, not so much if everything is just in the traditional 'store' archive mode. This is something we had to fight with for installers for a while before getting our code signing certificate up to Microsoft's set standard for a device installation count threshold. But in any case, this application is just weird and intentionally deceptive at what it does for the sake of gaming FPS so I wouldn't install this on any machine for provided 'extra FPS'. We're not in 2004, what you see is pretty much what you get and reducing pressure on your system generally really won't change anything as many operating systems are built to scale performance per app as its required. Unless you're on a 4C8T processor in 2026, which in that case; What are you doing?

I have an M4 Pro MacBook Pro and it's an complete piece of shit on Tahoe. They broke so much and fixed so little, icons paint extremely slowly, spotlight is slow, the apps menu is just ineffective. I actually had to upgrade from an M3 Pro thinking it would fix it but it didn't, putting Sequoia back on it made everything super snappy again.
