What Ecuador taught me about money🇪🇨💸
When I was 5, I watched my country fall apart.
The Sucre, our currency, was collapsing. Prices kept rising, savings evaporated, and then came the feriado bancario: banks shut their doors, freezing people’s money. When they finally reopened, entire lifetimes of work had been reduced to just $20–40.
By 2000, the Sucre was gone. Ecuador adopted the U.S. dollar, but the damage was already done — trust was broken, families were divided, and more than a million people left the country.
Growing up in that kind of instability shapes you forever. In Ecuador, you learn resilience early. You learn that money can fail you. You learn that nothing is guaranteed.
And that’s why, when I discovered Bitcoin, it felt different. Not just technology, but hope — a form of asset that can’t be devalued or frozen overnight.
That chapter of my life prepared me for the future — and for understanding why Bitcoin matters. 🟠✨
