Eyes on 👀 Hegseth just hosted Indonesian counterpart and announced a “Major Defense Cooperation Partnership”. The Strait of Hormuz is 2nd highest volume oil chokepoint on Earth. What’s the 1st? The Strait of Malacca, INDONESIA (80% of China’s oil imports pass through here). Global oil shipping chokepoints are being secured by the US MIL and their partners. Trump is securing the board! It’s happening.

It was an honor to host Indonesian Defense Minister @sjafriesjams at the Pentagon today. I was proud to announce that we are elevating our relationship to a Major Defense Cooperation Partnership, in recognition of the strength and potential of our bilateral defense ties.

@RobertSecundus Biology. I also studied creative writing as a minor to strengthen my communication skills (and because I’ve always had a soft spot for storytelling lol), and did 2 years of Japanese courses just for shits and giggles. All completely useless skills in this economy though

@PeterOB24979769 If Labor (or Liberals for that matter) were put in charge of Singapore the place would be trashed within a decade, while LKY given a free hand would have turned Aus around around in the same time. Australia's situation is entirely self-inflicted, but it's what the voters want

How come we go to Singapore, an island 50k by 20k, and beg for their assistance to keep an entire continent running? It’s because Singapore has had stable conservative government since WW2. We have had multiple left wing governments that have dismantled our economy and society.

Simmo v Kane Cornes is up there with mid 00’s Sydney v West Coast and 2010’s Geelong v Hawthorn in terms of modern AFL rivalries.

@wattle1854 @NoticerNews Because people with far left political beliefs don’t believe in borders. A foreign criminal has as much right to commit crimes in Australia as a citizen does in their world view, and it would be immoral to deport them. I can only wish the absolute worst for these people

@NoticerNews Yet again serious offenders are given visas by Tribunal general member Andrew Maryniak. Every single time. He doesn’t care about the criminality due to repeated offending, nor the impact on victims. Maryniak offers protection to serious immigrant criminals. Why?

No self-interest in these comments, is there, guys?🙄Really hate the sneering way so many AFL media types talk about supporters, you know the ones who actually pay to go to games without the comforts of the commentary box. 82% want a day GF, THERE's your key stakeholders.

"If the AFL loses to the NRL Grand Final for the next two years, it will have been a mistake!" After rugby league won the TV ratings battle with its 2025 decider, could the AFL's decision to stick with a day Grand Final prove costly? #AFL360

@PollyPorridge The way you ppl are opposed to this I’d have assumed there must be good arguments against it, instead there’s zero other than “I’m reflexively opposed to change”

@lenphil29 That’s reality. The arguments against a twilight GF are purely “I prefer a worse product because we’ve always done it that way”. It was the exact same thing as when Friday night games were introduced. Opposition for opposition’s sake

@lenphil29 The AFL is a business, and any business that gets complacent eventually dies. “We’ve got enough fans, we don’t need more” is not an attitude that any sports league should take

@MeganNyvold This is false at many levels, not least of all because it implies Chinese people can't figure out global price arbitrage and would rather sell for pennies on the dollar domestically rather than export overseas and cash in.

Jim Hacker: Humphrey, we have to do something about Iran. Sir Humphrey Appleby: Prime Minister, the government is already doing a great deal. Jim Hacker: Such as? Sir Humphrey Appleby: Monitoring developments, coordinating with allies, reviewing contingency plans and expressing concern. Jim Hacker: That all sounds like nothing, Humphrey. Sir Humphrey Appleby: On the contrary, Prime Minister. In diplomacy it is vital to appear active without becoming involved. Jim Hacker: The Americans are bombing things, the Iranians are firing missiles, the Strait of Hormuz is practically closed and we’re… appearing active? Sir Humphrey Appleby: Precisely. Jim Hacker: Innocent people are dying, Humphrey! Sir Humphrey Appleby: Yes, Prime Minister. That is why the Foreign Office is drafting a very strongly worded statement about it. Jim Hacker: A statement won’t stop a war. Sir Humphrey Appleby: No, Prime Minister, but it will ensure that we are on record as having been extremely concerned while it was happening. Bernard Woolley: If I may, Prime Minister — the Cabinet Office has identified six possible courses of action. Jim Hacker: Good! What are they? Bernard Woolley: We can condemn the escalation, call for restraint, urge negotiations, support our allies, assist defensive operations or participate directly. Jim Hacker: And what do they recommend? Sir Humphrey Appleby: Supporting our allies. Jim Hacker: That sounds suspiciously like participating. Sir Humphrey Appleby: Oh no, Prime Minister. Participating means fighting. Supporting merely means allowing others to fight from places that technically belong to us. Jim Hacker: Humphrey, if Iranian missiles hit one of our bases, we’ll be in the war anyway! Sir Humphrey Appleby: Yes, Prime Minister, but we shall have entered it with the invaluable diplomatic advantage of being surprised. Bernard Woolley: It’s generally considered the safest way to enter a war, Prime Minister. Jim Hacker: How on earth can that be safe? Sir Humphrey Appleby: Because if the war goes badly, we can say we never meant to join it. And if it goes well, we can say we were there all along.
