My heartfelt sympathies go to everyone injured in the Algarve tornado today, including the family of the British national who sadly lost her life. We are in close contact with Portuguese authorities and our consular staff are ready to provide support.

British Office Hargeisa welcomed UK colleagues and #Somaliland ministers/officials for discussions on trade and the strategic use of the #BerberaCorridor and Port. It was an opportunity to explore how 🇬🇧 & international partners can support inclusive and sustainable growth in SL.

Devastated to hear reports of a collapsed bridge between Hargeisa and Berbera - a critical route for trade and livelihoods. The communities affected are held deeply in my thoughts, and I hope for safety to those dealing with the heavy rains.

British Office Hargeisa proudly bade farewell to this year's #Chevening cohort from #Somaliland. Seven scholars are heading to UK universities to pursue diverse fields of study. Special thanks to @Dahabshil for partially sponsoring two of them. Wishing them all the best!
